C55 back on 4 wheels`

I had posted about my right front wheel being bent, well now it's fixed. I sent the wheel to Cliff Jacobs in Cincinnati, OH. Cliff did an amazing job, I mailed it on a Saturday and the following Tuesday at noon I recieved a call from him telling me my wheel was repaired. He said it wasn't cracked so it didn't need welding and he got it back to within 12/1000 of absolute (10/1000 is considered brand new perfect). I got two front tires and mounted and balanced them this morning. What a transformation, the car is SOOOOOO smooth now. I ran it up to 145 mph and the car/steering was as vibration free and smooth as sitting in the garage.

I couldn't recommend anyone higher than Cliff Jacobs. I just love this car.

I was only charged $108 including shipping. Cliff's web site says he charges between $80 and $125 + shipping. It cost me about $20 to shio it to him so the bill must have been barely over $80. The thing is, when Cliff called me, he said "it's bent pretty good", so I have no idea how bad it would be for him to charge the $125. Maybe that's if it's cracked and needs welding. I have to say, I was very pleasantly surprised that I was charged at the low end of his scale. How would I know what the charge should be, he could have said $125 + shipping and I would have paid it, but he didn't, he was completely above board and honest. That's pretty hard to find these days.

cool glad you got it fixed. I would have found a local shop to do it though shipping is too expensive on rims around 25 each wheel and thats with a volume account through my work.

I guess you could find a local shop in California, they have a lot more than business to choose from than the middle of Illinois. We are surrounded by corn and soy beans, nobody local. I paid $19 to ship it, I figure that's a cheap price to pay to have it fixed right and not use some club fisted idiot with a torch and a sledge hammer.
