MAF SENSOR CLEANING
I went through a lot of trouble to locate and purchase some CRC MAF cleaner, when I took my car to a guy who specialises in Mercedes (not agent) maintenace and gave him the cleaner he told me that the C32 does not have a MAF???? But rather air flow heaters????? Can anyone advise as I believe that these sensors and heating wires should be cleaned periodically with air filter maintenance.

no you not gona damage the sensor. I cleaned it twice first time for my clk320 (gone) and second time for my CLK500 just like couple weeks ago.

Using oil based filters like K&N seems to have a knack for messing with the intake sensors. I just cleaned the MAF on my Subaru because it was running like crap with the cold weather. You can use the CRC Electronics Cleaner as well as the MAF cleaner, same stuff for 2 dollars less. I saw both at the auto parts store.
Just hold the can far enough away that the spray doesnt hit the contacts on a sensor with too much force. Dont be afraid to soak it. Some of the guys on the Subaru pages actually fill a small container with the stuff and dunk the whole unit in the solution and swirl it around.

you do not clean a MAP sensor. It's just an air pressure sensor and no debris or air or anything flows through it.
