The car wouldn't start so the dealer replaced the crank position sensor. When I came to pick it up, it still wouldn't start. So now the SA is saying it's the ECU... New ECU unit costs $2500. Could it be the tune? Or is it really the ECU? I told the SA to reset my ECU, but he said they can't do that, only update it.
I also asked them to put my old CPS back and refund me but he insists that there was a code for it and it is part of the problem.
What else could it be besides the CPS?

we had a couple of cars in the shop that came in for ECU update recalls that had been moded. Once they ECU had been flash it bricked the ECUs on both clients cars. If you think they are going to flash it for whatever reason you should let them know it's modified so you don't need a new ECU if they flash it for whatever reason.

Check to make sure that the ecu is in properly and the pins are not bent.

does the car actually crank? or is it totally dead?
it cranks, but does not start. The lights turn on and everything is functional except the motor.

could be the fuel pump, starter or maybe spark plugs. It basically sounds like your getting no spark. Check the plugs since thats cheap. Also make sure your battery voltage isnt low. It takes a lot of amps to crank the c32. So if you have a low battery, your electrics will work but you can't crank the car.

Exploredoubt it's the ecu. they don't go kaboom that easy without some heavy tampering.
most likely your fuel pump or starter. battery low voltage can also cause the same thing.
