My 2002 C32 has the old headlights, I walked into a shop today and behold there was a set of imported Projection Headlights brand new incidently for righthand drive vehicle, the guy practically gave them away and said he would refund me if they did'nt fit, I took the chance at the price anyway. What he could not tell me was if they are like the OEM "auto adjusting" is there anyway I can inspect them for this, however I very seldom load more than an overnight bag and or a golf bag so seriously doubt whether this would be an issue in anycase, also rarely travel at night in SA anymore. Does one replace bulbs etc.... when fitting these, anybody know?

You have a lot of questions....
Can you post pictures of the back and the bottom?
BIX with Auto Adjusting should have three wiring looms, one for the auto levelors, the washer, and the headlight itself. If they dont have three looms then i would guess its a Ebay knock off.
Ig you had frosty xenons than you dont need to change bulbs.
If you had halogen headlights before than your old bulbs wont work. You would need to get a D2S Bulb. The smaller wedge bulb and the high beam should be the same.

So since these are projectors, do the beams NOT spike up to the side so you can see road signs?
Otherwise, you may be blinding drivers coming the other way if you're in the US.

just like gramma benz said...if your in the US..your gonna be blinding all oncoming drivers and you won't be able to see any road signs. You would basically be a driving road hazard..lol.
You can just buy oem bixenons, buy the depos or buy the depos and do a hid retro fit.
Here's my newest retro.. s2k projectors.

The OP is not in the US, Not safe to drive at night any more? RightHand Drive? Hint Hint
He is in South Africa (SA?)
like Matt Damon, Clint Eastwood, and Morgan Freeman.
Did I misinterpret his original post. Did he buy a set of projectors or a complete unit?

1. is it aftermarket "projector" headlamp? OR the BiX? there is a major difference.
2. if it is the BiX. everything will be plug & play. if you had the xenon previously the auto-leveling will also work with the BiX.

I had euro projectors on my old C230 and they are not a driving hazard nor do they blind other people. They basically don't have the flare at all. Now US spec headlights overseas would definately blind other drivers.

You must have had the left hand drive EURO versions. The right hand drive ones have opposite cutoffs for the beams-

ExploreThanks Guys, had a good look at them again, Moosejaw you're on top of your game. I see at the rear of the new units there is like a 6mm or 8mm connection for a push on hose, is this the pneumatic leveling device?? Only intend fitting the units in January, vehicle going in for some paintwork repair, stone chips etc...!

Thanks
Nothing goes on there.....
Its a weep (vent) hole for getting rid of water and condensation built up, sort of like a window frame.
I dont think you have OEM xenons, you would see the three wiring connections I referred to in my first post.
Can you post a pic?
