However, more recent versions indicate it’s the correct lubricant..

Great info! Now I need to find where to get that. Makes me wonder why they use that instead of Mobile Jet Oil II. Again, I appreciate you finding this info

In trying to find a supplier that sells Mobile Jet Oil II (2nd gen), I couldn't find anyone here locally. I found out that now exxon makes a new third generation oil called Mobile Jet 254 which is for sale here. (same grade) Gonna get that tomorrow and have it changed out.

Thanks again to splinter for pointing this out and leading us to the right direction !

the mobile jet II is the approved oil. Jet 254 is the replacement for it. Either one should do it.

Which ever you can source. I would assume "254" is more available as it's the replacement for the older "II" oil...

Finally got a hold of one quart. Less than $15. I wonder how to store this since we don't use that much....

i read up on the link above ad its said "Mobil Jet Oil II is engineered for aircraft gas turbine engines used in commercial and military service requiring MIL-PRF-23699F-STD level performance. It also is recommended for aircraft-type gas turbine engines in industrial or marine service applications" well i work and jet engines and we use MIL-PRF-23699F on our engines does that mean i can use that ?

There's a vendor on ebay selling almost an entire case (23 quarts) of the Mobil Jet Oil II for less than half of any other company on the internet. I'd be willing to buy it if there are a few people to take some of the stuff off my hands. It's $119 obo plus $28.53 for shipping. The second cheapest price is from airplaneoil.com and with shipping is $270. One quart is over $20 shipped. I know this seems trivial, but if we can get it for half price; why not?

Anyone have extra Jet Oil II to sell? I went to my local dealership, and the parts guy said he would look into special ordering it for me, but never called me as he said he would. I'm sure it would be a rip off through them anyways...
