Is my supercharger pulley bearing going? (video)

I've been getting a kind of burning smell coming from my engine. When I went to see where it was coming from I couldn't really tell, but when I checked with the engine on I noticed this noise. This is a C3P pulley that's only about 3 months old. Here's a video:

Also, if it is a bearing would I be doing damage driving on it until a new bearing comes in?

03 g35 coupe...........02 c32 Sold
yeah its the bearing, its gone. You can order it for around $50 and get it pressed at a machine shop for $20 or less.

You can drive it but try not to drive it if possible. If the bearing fails when your driving, the pulley will basically shoot out and probably damage parts of the engine.

Get it replaced asap.

Hmmm. I think my car makes a similar noise when it first starts up and has been doing so for a good while. After the engine warms up it goes away. I am going to have to check it out.

Thanks guys. I just ordered three just in case. Here's the link if anyone else need to buy some: http://bearingsdirect.com/store/inde..._detail&p=3460

On a separate note. I had to do a lot of driving for work today, so i rented a car. It was an Impala and made me appreciate my AMG soooooo much more. I think I was beginning to take it for granted. The impala was ridiculously under powered and was like driving a bowl of jello down the road. When I got back into my car, I had a five minute conversation with her about how good of a girl she was (not kidding).

are you sure its the right bearing? i could be wrong but i wouldnt think an a/c compressor bearing would be spinning as fast as a s/c bearing.

Yeah, I did quite a bit of research. It says AC bearing, but they are used in all sorts of applications. Another website listed a whole slew of automotive applications, but they were in China. I found this through the SRT forum. Actually, there was some really good threads on it over there. Those guys do some serious research.

Chris,
This is what you need.

The bearingsdirect a/c bearing may be underrated in the RPM department.

Thanks for the link Robert. I had found a bearing site that said the two bearings were the same, but I'm gonna buy the NSK just to be on the safe side.
