I am thinking of adding the following to my C55:
-Evosport headers
-Evosport ECU upgrade
-Quaife LSD
-Evosport resonator deletion kit

I am looking for some opinions on these products.

Get hooleys long tube headers they will produce more power. You also dont need a resonator delete kit most places will do it without a "kit" I dont even know what a kit is maybe a piece of straight pipe? LET is supplying C55 Ecu upgrades for 399 now I believe which would be the best for your money. Quaife makes a good LSD I think evo supplies them as well.

MBH Headers......evosport ones are worthless. MBH longtubes saw significant gains over the evosport ones. Contact MBH Motorsports or Hooleyboy about these. Additionally, AMS and Kleeman make headers for the C55 as well.

tune wise, depending on your budget, I would say the LET/Eurocharged tune, which is at a very very competitive price, (contact Loungn14 (Jake) about that) or a Renntech tune.

LSD is legit

you don't need an evosport res deletion kit. you can get it done for half the price at any exhaust shop. additionally, you can delete your secondary cats or opt for high flow secondaries and see some gains there as well as a louder, more pronounced V8 grunt.

...i'm seeing an evosport theme here....and i'm not hating against evosport, but there are other products out there that perform the same or better AND priced more competitively. being that you are a new member, i recommend also looking into products by MBH, LET/Eurocharged, Renntech, and AMS.

again, depending on budget, you can also throw an intake on there, do a true dual exhaust

Why exactly do you think the Evosport ones are worthless? If I recall correctly, hooleyboy and a few others performed before and after dynos and showed gains...

they are shorties and mild steel. when hooley took his off, there were cracks in them. when he swapped the evosport headers with the MBH ones, he picked up 19whp on top of what he had with the evosport headers......and the evosport headers with full exhaust was originally good for about 20whp on a stock C55......so 19whp more for what, full stainless steel, for what, 300 bucks more? no brainer.

i guess i shouldnt say they are worthless....but rather, there are better options available.

All Mild Steel headers for the benz market rust & Crack... Go TIG stainless or go home, its that simple. I am shocked people even install mild steel on a Mercedes its almost a disgrace to the 3-pointed star (again no offense to anyone)...

Jturkel is correct, depending on which route you want to take there are a few options. If you want shorties then AMS has C55 ones in stock ready to ship now for under $1199 w/ free shipping. If you want a power pulley as well that is also available.

For the Long Tube header route MBH is king plain & simple... no other header on the market is better period. However, they do cost a tiny bit more than ours so its up to you to determine which route is best for you. Are you looking for a more power & Torque for a reasonable price or are you trying to break some HP records. Once you factor which route you want to go then the choice is very simple. Either way you can't go wrong, the only real limitation is your wallet .

I pretty much agree with everything up here.

I have Kleemann headers, Kleemann ecu, kleemann straight pipes, deleted cats, deleted resonator and k&n filters and make pretty good power over stock.

If you want to keep your OEM primary cats, short tube headers such as AMS and evosport are the way to go (but yeah, mild steel WILL go bad eventually even if its ceramic coated).

The census is pretty much clear that long tubes/tri-y headers such as MBH and kleemann will make more hp than short tubes but one can argue that the primary reason why long tubes make more is because they get rid of the factory cat.

Now I haven't seen dynos comparing shorties w/straight pipes compared to long tubes with straight pipes but I will have a dyno report on a gain with my kleeman headers/ecu by saturday.

Good luck to whatever path you take!

Headers- MBH or if money is an issue Kleemann

Tune- Eurocharged

Quaife is good option for LSD.

No need to buy a resonator delete "kit". Any custom exhaust shop should be able to do it. Its just piping

Do you have a pic? Will they fit a S55 AMG (W220) or is it only for a C55?
