C320 Conv -> C32

So I am planning to buy this C320 conversion that has all the body work done already. What would I need to spend the supercharger from AMG to get it to C32 specs?

Is there a better way to spend the same money to get the same HP?

I know what you're thinking but I really can't afford a new C32 and the only used ones are Salvaged title. Why don't you people ever sell your car? J/K I know why already.

call RENNtech and ask about the High-boost application for the C320. It will get you just over 400hp. It's quite expensive...

Both Kleeman and Carlsson make a supercharger for the C320, I would look into that as you cannot just bolt up a C32 supercharger on the C320 and expect C32 performance. You'd need to transplant the entire engine.

You will never be able to convert a C320 fully to a C32 without it costing more in the end. Therefore, you are going to have to choose what to leave out. The C32 package includes the interior, engine and internals, brakes, suspension, wheels, and body kit. The supercharger kit alone will cost you quite a bit of money, maybe $6k+

The supercharger is 2600 (installed for 3000 flat)

The brakes are cheap (645) and I can install them.

The suspension I have not looked into.

The body kit is 2300

The engine is exactly the same with no other parts to consider

The wheels I have

The interior I don't really care about.

I think for under $10K I can make a pretty descent replica. Car price itself not withstanding. I am getting a 2001 C230 for 26K with 18K miles on it.

Although I would still much rather have the real thing.

03' C32, 98' Civic EX
Never heard of such a great deal on superchargers before... The person/shop whoever quoted you that price probably mis-heard you and thought that you are buying a s/c for a civic. Oh, and it's a used one too; as the new ones will cost more than $3000. That's not including the intercooler and various other fittings. So good luck getting your $3000 (w/ installation) s/c, and let us hear how much horse the s/c ended up taking away.

Thats absurd to think that you can make a C320 like a C32 for 10 grand, In your wildest dreams. Even if you got some cheap parts at cost the install of all that stuff would be in the thousands.
It seems to me you are a painter/installer/certified mechanic and sell parts that have waranty's. Is your work warrantied?

The engine actually does have internal modifications to improve reliability, but I don't think it is necessary with a Kleemann kit for example, that runs lower boost. I don't now much about the kit, so I leave it to you to find out.

We forgot to add exhaust to the list of items. Anyone else have ideas?

Personally, I would remove my stock C320 engine, sell it on eBay, and then buy a Euro-spec 5.5 AMG engine and transplant it in. Thato would be cool, and maybe more cost effective than modifying the 320.

Then you would have a c55, which would be cool as hell. Whoo whooooo!

FYI
This is a old thread, but C32s run lower compression than C320s
You just cant bolt on a supercharger.

OJwerks did something similar to his SLK320 but only expected to run 5psi of boost

From what was discussed here in the past we can now say it's definitely cheaper to just buy a real C32 AMG...

C32/C55 AMG
If you can get a good deal on a whole, wrecked C32 for cheap, then I think you could definitely do it. You could essentially swap everything over, would be much easier if your car was a c320 or c240 for sure. I would love to do it to a wagon, that would be awesome.

You could swap engine, tranny, ecu, tcu, eis, speedometer, interior, and even the suspension.
