Should I pay almost 4k to fix it or just buy another engine?

Wowsers - Your crank pulley just 'came off' while you were driving?

Can you elaborate on this issue with the crank pulley?
Had you replaced it or done anything to it?
Was it an OE pulley?

185 mm crank pulley , I was driving a week back and the pulley unscrewed basically and came out . the pulley and the bolt. My car was running fine before this , I even had it dyno tuned and nothing happened.

+1 Yikes...who did the install? Didn't torque the crank bolt down properly?

Get a new engine. Cna be had for less then that price and swaps are easy.

A C32 engine in good order and from a reputable seller/shop is less than $4k? I'm surprised... would've expected more than that.

EURO KNG - sorry to hear it, especially after your other pulley issue not long ago. Best of luck with getting it fixed.

you are correct, they are stretch bolts. Sounds like a bad install error with not torquing the bolt down to the correct specs

When searching for the engine, look for the srt6 crossfire engine. For some reason the mercedes name adds to the cost. When we were looking for a spare for the twin project, they could be found for a conciderable amout less.

That's some low miles! I'm guessing it came from a wreck?

With all this being said... i'm sure most know i'm going to be taking apart a lot of stuff in the next week. My car has an aftermarket pulley, would it be wise to take it off, and put a new bolt in? Just in case an old bolt was re-used?

if you don't trust the shop that did it, i would do it for a piece of mind.

This is a scary thread to read... 185MM just falling off. Glad I opted to not drive my C32 at all until I get the slight pulley wobble sorted out. Sorry to hear this man! Maybe during install the key wasn't lined up?
