Whats this C55 AMG worth (accident car)
So here are the specs, wondering what its worth AS IS:
2005 C55 AMG
Black on Black
Nav
77k miles
CLEAN TITLE
Needs:
Hood
bumper
both fenders
headlights
driver airbag/module
driver seatbelt
sunroof glass
lower control arms and tie rod ends
full paint job.
The car starts up perfectly and only has an SRS light obviously. The rad support and frame rails are untouched. Car hit a small curb and then a chain link fence. Just curious to know what this car would be worth AS IS condition. Any ideas?

wow, um, i would say all the things it needs is near 10k maybe more. the sunroof glass alone is expensive to install.
and paint job, don't cheap out.
i wouldn't think its worth it man, id throw out maybe 4-6k but thats me personally, and i don't like these things, its not an investment, at all.

you can buy a C55 with that mileage for around 20-25k...
if the accident it had is listed on carfax, it worth 7000 + 10000 in parts & labor...
if its not listed, then its worth around 10000

I mean honestly, its really not THAT bad. It has no frame rail damage or rad support. Its mostly cosmetic. Nothing thats going to REALLY make a lasting impression as long as the paint job is done properly.

Wow wheres the video camera when you need one. I would have loved to see how a fence did all this. But good luck fixing it up if you do take the challenge. I saw you wrote to Hooley, hope he can help because if you get his parts then you will have record breaking C55 parts. How much are they asking for this C55 anyways?

Its my C55, I was considering selling it AS IS or fixing it. I want to sell it now or eventually.

in all seriousness though, this would be a sick car for a custom paint job. Like a pearl white or really anything. Being that it was originally black, the door jams and engine bay would look good with pretty much anything.

Oh I agree. Hooleys car was all black and was a sexy beast!!! I like the black on black look. I would love a C55 but my wallet says differently I have a red W203 and I love red C55s too.

If like you say, all damage is cosmetic, I would not pay more than $3k for the car to keep as a project. Unless you take it to Maco or have your own body shop, the paint job alone is going to cost a fortune. AMG suspension parts are really expensive new -- see what Potomac has. I hope you have serious DYI skills.

these work for me

And a paint job is relative. I dont own a body shop but I do have a good friend that does very good paint work at his shop. I can help him do alot of the prep work and knock a decent amount off the car. I know I can get the car painted for under 5k and I think I can get all of the parts I need for around 3k. IDK, may sell it as is though, so we'll see

Sounds like you can do it, more power to you. Go for it! If you can walk out with a C55 in great shape for $10k or under (not counting your labor) you will be very pleased.

You will also need two front wheels and a driver's side mirror as well.
A car like this looks like a great deal on the surface but when you start adding up the list of things to buy, change and "to-do"..you could buy a car that has lower mileage that has never been crashed.
Also with suspension damage I am always suspect of, damage that is enough to crack the wheels and deflate the tires is a huge red flag, typically it is not just a tie rod or control arm change..I bet the rack suffered on this car...I would be putting that car on a laser jig to check the geometry....I am suspect of it..hitting curbs and going off roading through a fence is not kind to any car's suspension and mounting points let along a high end car, where a fair bit of aluminum and light weight componentry is used in the suspension.
The paint job will require a full sanding basically down to bare metal as the fence has seriously gouged the metal on the A-pillars and the roof as a start. I assume the windshield may have some scratches as well?
I have spent years doing body work and working at my Uncle's body shop and seen this kind of damage before. It is not a simple scuff with 600grit, paint with high build primer and then paint and clear coat. To make it perfect would require alot of prep work, luckily it is black and black is the king of hiding imperfections until you get it under a fluorescent light..el oh el.!
I would not even consider a car like unless it could be purchase for VERY cheap...like around $3K.

03 g35 coupe...........02 c32 Sold
usually oem quality paint jobs are around $5k. Yes you can get them for cheaper as low as $1600 on a maco style paint job, but it will be below oem quality.
I know for oem honda air bags are at least $2500 from the dealer. So i think for a mercedes it would be more, unless you get lucky and can find a undeployed used air bag.
i guesstimate $10k plus to fix it.
