SC pulley removed, what's this??

I posted this in another thread, but I hoped it would get more attention on its own.

I removed my SC pulley (it was really stuck on!) and noticed something that doesn't look right. In the picture of the SC mounting area below, there seems to be some plastic rings missing. Does anyone know where I can get these? I'm sure I've driven the car without them for a while, so what damage could them missing potentially cause? Before I put the pulley back on I was hoping to get this fixed.

Thanks for your help.

That doesn't look too healthy.
The contact surface with the clutch assembly has worn down / degraded and you've lost some of the surface (obviously).

Have you noticed any problems with the supercharger engaging with the contact surface like this?
If not, with the exposed edges, you are likely to lose more of this surface material with time and then you will have problems with the clutch engaging.

That doesn't look right. This is beyond an R & R of the S/C pulley bearing.
I've never seen my clutch assembly looking like that after removing the pulley.
Anyone want to figure this one out?

I haven't noticed any loss of power or supercharger disengaging. I took the pulley off because it was starting to get loud and I plan to replace the bearing. The missing pieces are plastic, not metal. If you start from the outside of the circle, there's a ring of metal, plastic, metal, plastic, and then the metal center. The inside plastic ring is OK. The pulley seems to make enough contact with the metal rings.

Is there anywhere that I could buy these plastic rings?

I've been reading more about this, and I believe that what I'm looking at here is the clutch assembly, correct? I that replaceable, or would I need a whole new SC? If I can't get those plastic rings, is there any place other than the dealer where I could buy a clutch? p/n?

I can't be certain, but I'm pretty sure that mine doesn't have rings. Maybe it's a difference between the years. When I put my PSK on, I'll check.

you wont touch the s/c pulley on the psk. you have to remove the s/c pulley to see what he has missing.

I believe you can now buy the S/C pulley and clutch assembly from the dealership svc dept. Can't help on the P/N, but a few members 'round here seem to be omniscient in that regard; hopefully one of them can assist.

Used to be, IIRC, that MB would replace the entire supercharger if the $50 S/C bearing went out.

Wouldn't that be typical MB - replace the entire supercharger for the bearing problem. I'm just hoping I don't have to replace the whole clutch assembly for a simple 6-cent piece of plastic. I'm going to take measurements before I put the pulley back on. Maybe I can have new ones made. Anyone know a plastics manufacturer?
