vibration from the rear

Anyway, was driving on the expwy yesterday and the car started to vibrate from the rear out of nowhere. I pulled over and saw nothing I thought i might have ran over something. So today the same thing happened and when I pulled over ....NADA but i was suspecting that the rear right caliper might be sticking every now and then so as soon as I got home I bled all four corners. Will see what if it happens again. Has anyone had this hapen to them? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

John

I was hoping thats all it was but it comes and goes. it would vibrate @65mph and below until i stop and shut the car off and after a quick inspection finding nothing, I start the car up and go and no vibration...weird huh?

Check the front splash guards in the wheel wells. Sometimes these come loose on mine and rub against the wheels. At highway speeds it feels like a vibration coming from the back even though it's the front splash guards rubbing. This has happened to me a few times and as soon as I bolt them down it goes away. Last time it happened I was on the turnpike and had to use the fishing pliers out of my vest that happened to be in the trunk. The time before I had a knife and had to cut away the whole piece. Moral of the story, make sure you put them back on correctly and check the screws once in a while.

you could also have a bad tire. any number of strange harmonics can be introduced, or come and go when a tire is bad.

Same thing happened to me a while back (any time I'd reach 45-50 mph) It ended up being a loose wheel. The wheel wasn't square when we bolted them back on so I'd suggest jacking your car up, completely removing both rear wheels and make sure they are mounted square/flat and bolt them back on. Good Luck.
