I think it will blend in too much with the black exterior of the car. I said nay, but I guess if you were to paint/powder coat them flat black it may look nice.

I just like the contrast that the tips provide with the rear.

Exactly. There's carbon built up on the lower part of the tips that doesn't come off with polish. Furthermore, since I've put on my headers, the color of the tips actually changed a little bit too!

I saw a completely murdered out CLS55 when I visited HK last year (along with a flat black g55!) and its flat black tips looked pretty nice.

I like and voted for stock, since I like the contrast it gives. Shiny tips just look good.

Then again, if you went flat black, I'd still give you kudos.

i voted black but hopefully it doesn't look off since you still have all the stock chrome accents on the car ex: chrome trim, chrome MB sign on grill and chrome V8 badge on sides..

Are you sure that it will not come off with polish? I remember when I had my exhaust replaced, long story, I thought the same thing. While I took some buffing compound and the black came off almost completely. It took me a while, but they looked almost brand new.

Each to his own, but I vote for stock chrome exhaust tips -- with everything else blacked out they'l look that much better.

I bought some nice chrome polish compound back in Vancouver and it worked really well. If you want to try it out I can bring it to Seattle this weekend.
BTW I vote for chrome

That actually looks really good. I was looking at getting quad exhaust and I had looked at some slant cut titanium tips. What size do you have, I was looking at getting 89mm (3.5 in).

I'm kind of torn now. Has anyone considered putting CLK55 quad tips on or C63 tips? The c55 exhaust tips are kind of small compared those two. Yes, I have exhaust tip size envy :

Whats the name of the product?
Are you sure it would be effective on an older car with long term buildup?
I assumed yours would be easy to get off seeing as its a brand new car (shrugs). I would be interested in trying though.

either blue magic or mother's chrome polish works. you just have to keep polishing till the black soot build up comes off. takes some time.
