Ordered: Nitto 555R's in 285/35/18

Like the title said, I ordered a set of Nitto 555R's in 285/35/18. I'm running 275/35/18's currently but after 4 months they've gone bald already

The 275's fit without any issues and now I'm running 10mm spacers anyway so it shouldn't be a problem. A local c63 guy here on the board is running those the same tires as I ordered without spacers and does not have any issues.

Hopefully if they come in before the end of this week I can take it to the track and hopefully hit mid 12's!

my 275's dont have any issues either. except the traction is too limited! I was gonna get a set of 255-40-16's drag radials for the track to help. I'm hitting 106 in the traps with the crappy radials and a 2.4 60'

I trapped a 107.7 @ 13.1 on 19" wheels with 275/30 tires lol...

I would like a set of dedicated slicks but I'm really more interested into seeing what this car can pull in basically street trim since the nitto tires are much more streetable than the MT "street tires".

Any other c32/c55 owners putting down similar power have tips on tire pressure, what gas to use, etc, etc?

for both my vehicles i run 35psi all around.

I run 275 Dunlop Direzza Star Specs, they seem wide and they rub with a 32 mm offset. I did quite a bit of grinding. I did find that I lost power when I went to the wider heavier rims. My advice if you want to drag. Go to lighter 17's with a Mickey Thompson Drag radial. SSR used to make rims for Mercedes, I wish they still did. They weighed 20lbs for 18x9.5 vs 30 lbs for the AMG rims I am running. That kills power.
EVO dyno'd the carbon fiber rims they sell for CLK Black series and they picked up 20hp at the wheels over stock.

Come out to the next BSCC autocross. I was the only benz last weekend running against Mod'd subbies. 5th in class is all I could manage with my foot buried in the gas.

Great tire.

Are you going to make it to the Woodburn Dragstrip rental in July?

I think you can count me out unfortunately I'm running the drag tires on my regular wheels and I only have another set of 19"s that are basically bald. I will be going to PR whenever its a test & tune on a dry day though! Swing by! I live like 15 minutes from the track.

The 285/35/18's look THICK on my wheels...I can finally hook up in 1st gear now! The only downside is that they're rubbing like crazy going over most little bumps even by myself. I think it rubs on the outer edge so I'm going to try to run the wheels without my spacers and see if it fits!
