Fuel pump replacement

I've been having the same issue that alot of us C32 owners are experiencing (car cranks but does not start). I've replaced the CPS, checked both the relay and the fuse for the pump and everything is fine. I checked the fuel rail to see if there was pressure in the lines while the key was in the on position and nothing. Went to check the brown and black power cable on the pump and there is voltage going to the pump but no pump response. Then I put 12v straight to the pump to double check the pump and nothing....

I've read through some other threads and I'm not sure if this has been brought up, but although the pumps are internal there are access pannels under the back seat. Possibly to remove the pumps without bringing down the whole gas tank. I'll let y'all know for sure tomorrow.

Just wanted to bring this up for the people that have yet to replace a bad pump and pay some outrageous amount to replace it. I'm looking to spend about $700 for both pumps if they're both bad and of course I'll be doing the labor myself.

I'll keep y'all updated on the progress.

Yup i got the pumps out today, without dropping the tank , and the wires are fried! I work at a shop so I'm gonna check the pumps tomorrow since I don't have all my tools at home.

Updates tomorrow.

I recently had to change the pumps. I didn't do it myself and it cost a fortune and messed a bunch of other things up too. I sincerely hope that it was a necessary repair and couldn't have been avoided by just changing the wires. Really glad you caught this though .

Just one thing I'm not too sure what would cause the wires to burn the way they did. I mean wouldn't the fuse or the relay pop? If anyone has any info on this please fill us in.

Beats me, but if you look at the thread below you'll see where I posted pics of how mine almost burned the entire car up.

I think those pics that you have are actually making referance to where the E-brake is serviced. The wires to the fuel pumps are inside of the tank. You wouldn't be able to see anything that was burnt until you opened up the service ports on the gas tank. Thats strange that you would get burt marks on that pannel. You might have had another problem or you might have just got something caught under your car.
