Researched Springs and Still Need Help...

I've committed to purchasing springs instead of coilovers because I'm just not ready to spend over $1,000 yet to lower my car. With that being said I'm just trying to decide which spring to get to achieve my desired end result.

First and foremost I want to close the gap up front. I'd like the rear height to remain close to it's current position as I don't want to tuck under the fender too much. I've read about the H&R springs, the Renntech springs and the Eibach springs and they all seem to drop it about 1", correct me if I'm wrong.

I see everyone talking about #4 spring pads in the rear to help achieve the effect mentioned above. Problem is I have no clue what a spring pad is; Do they come with the springs? Is is something I have to order from MB? What is it?

So, that's the matter at hand, all help is greatly appreciated.

a car that can't do the throttle reset.
Vogtland's are also recommended.
Renntech's are a bit more expensive, but pics and reviews say they are awesome.
H&R has supposedly shown slight variations in how much they settle.
Never read anyone having Eibach's on their 32.

Spring pads can be had from the dealer.

^pointman is pretty much on point

the eibach supposely has more drop then H&R btw.

RENNtech springs is good because their spring rate is matched with SACHS struts/shocks which is the OEM company that makes the AMG struts/shocks on the C32/55.

a car.
So RENNtech with #4 pads will be a direct fit without any adverse effects or the need to change other components of the suspension?

What number are the stock pads in the front? What is the front pad number to lower the front even more?

Vogtlands will lower your C32 more in the front and just a tad in the rear. You will not have too mess around with pads either!

I actually like the height in the rear of my car, but the front definitely needs lowering. I'm thinking of just using different springs in the front.

my slk32 has eibachs from the factory so its a safe bet the c32 springs are the same brand.
pads run in 4mm incrememnts from from #1 being the thinnest to #4 if the rear and #5 in the front.

Does the need for the spring pad apply to the C55 as well?

I was thinking about getting H&R springs soon (not sure which ones though)
