my engine broke down
Hi GUYS, last time i had 2 problems with intercooler and transmission and resolved them, and now finally i found my engine dead, the block of cylinders is damaged by piston and now got a scratch.
What i am supposed to do? . Please Help.

Is your engine modded? How many miles do you have? Where are you located? How did you find out that you had damaged cylinders?

This is happening too much especially with my luck lately! Sorry to hear... On the dyno I was running 12.2 - 12.6 AFR. Thinking I should send ECU back to LET for re-tune...

How exactly do you know there is a scratch on a cylider wall? You don't have an aftermarket tune by chance, do you?

Had the same on mine. replased 2 pistons. Suspect the eurocharged tune provides detonation with low octan gas. Car moded almost same as Rasim's 178mm puley, short headers, K&N filters.

a lean tune will cause detonation. Usually piston ring will blow and scratch all the silicon off the cylinder walls. The pistons and rods seem robust enough to take the detonation vs the ring.

This is assuming you had a aftermarket tune.

You can bore out the block to a 3.7L and then sleeve with larger pistons and lighter rods or you can just buy another used engine.

in my case (same as Rasim's) ringgs were ok but the wall between 'em gave a way

PS. Do u mean 5.5k piston and rods?

what caused your walls to give out? My pistons and rods were fine. I lost the silicon coating on two of my cylinder walls, but other then that there was no real damage to the cyclinder walls for me.

I would just use stronger custom pistons and rods.

i guess you can just buy airfrcd's motor. He's selling it for 3k without the sc. Its probably cheaper then rebuilding it.
