How do I remove chrome door pull protectors?

Yea, not really looking for "as fast as you can" or anything like that guys!

I have no idea who these things are stuck on there but I've tried to tug gently on them and nothing. Are they held with double sided tape or something? Is there a trick to the way they have to come out, either out the top or bottom of the opening? I'm thinking I probably shouldn't even take them off due to what I'll find underneith them...guessing the paint will either look twice as good as the rest of the car or look twice as bad. Either way, thanks in advance!

The chrome stripping should just pull off. You could always wrap the strips with some black vinyl film. I have seen a few people that have done that

Dental floss works great or nylon fishing line if it is just held on with doublesided tape. Also it wouldnt hurt to heat it a little before hand with a hair dryer. Just make sure you clean it up good afterward.

hair dryer works great or park outside when the sun is out. this is what i did when i had to remove and remount my cf trunk lid. then to remove the residual adhesive a terry cloth with wd-40 then re-polish with wax

Would probably be easier to take the door handles off to clean the residue off as well.

I had the chrome pieces painted. Although I am going to redo mine and wrap the trim with vinyl (what I should have done the first time around) because the paint has chipped and its showing the chrome from underneath which I have to constantly touch up.

I was thinking about getting some Di-Noc and playing with it.. see if I can wrap just the chrome bits leaving the black parts black... I have this black chrome kit that I have been playing with so far not the best results on my test pieces.
