WTB: Supercharger pulley bearing

It sounds like my SC bearing on the Code 3 pulley is going bad again. It's been about 35,000 miles, I'd say. Does that sound about right for the NSK bearing to start going bad?

If I confirm it's bad, which I'm 99% sure it is going bad, I need to buy one. Anyone have one they want to sell?

Fifty bucks??? Jeez, that's a lot more than I paid for the last one. I paid around $25. :p Oh well. Does anyone have a private party one they want to sell?

Also, is 35K about right for the bearing to wear out?

did you get it in a group buy? of course you can keep running the failing bearing, im sure it will tell you before it seizes and trashes the belt and who knows what else. of course you will have saved 50$

No, I bought it private party. :p Well...I suppose it has to be done. It's just a pain. Again...is 35,000 miles about the average wear time? Heh, still don't know if that's normal.

dont u have a code sc pulley? You should make sure if the code3 bearing and the oem sc bearing is the same size. The links we gave you are for the oem sc bearing.

It *should* be the same, shouldn't it? I thought the only difference between a code 3 and a stock was that it was machined down 9 mm.

I wouldn't know where to look and verify if it's the right one. Any suggestions on who to ask?

Never mind, I think I found it. It appears that the sizes are the same. Does anyone know if Nachi is a good company as well? They have a direct replacement to the NSK bearing.

What's the RPM rating on the Nachi? When I was looking into supercharger bearings a while back I remember that one other company provided a bearing that would fit. However, that bearing is mostly used for A/C compressor pulleys, and will not stand up to the high RPM supercharger pulley application. Not sure if the company was Nachi...

It *should* be the same, shouldn't it?
Yes...

Nachi actually makes the bearings for the x55's SC clutch.

Does anyone know what the average lifespan of the NSK bearing is?

Does anyone knows the NSK reference for this bearing? How much it should be maximum RPM to look for?

if my memory serves me right, our clutches engages @3000rpm even when pressing lightly... so the bearing actually doesn't spin than fast....

3000rpm is the speed of the crank.

the sc speed is (crank pulley / sc pulley) x crank speed.

154/65 x 6k = 14,215.

So the sc bearing is spinning at 14k

i dont under why you just dont order the nsk bearing. Its been proven work reliably and its only $55.

at 35k per bearing its only costing you $0.0015 per mile.

Fair enough, though it appears it was a false alarm.

Actually when it's engaged, it doesn't spin. It's only when it disengages that the bearing spins... :-)
Anyways, agreed that just get the NSK...

Bearing is available at any bearing distributor. I bought one yesterday for 150ZAR. about 22 USD. I am looking for a charge cooler for my supercharger. Anybody know where I can source one?
