Crap...I need a new front bumper/lip

Had a minor incident yesterday and now a 1/4th of my bumper and cf lip were ripped/broken off. I still have both fog lights and are functional, the temperature sensor is still there as well.

So...

Does anyone know where I can get the c55/clk55 front bumper cheap? I also need the plastic underskirt too as its all messed up as well.

I'm debating on going through my insurance or just paying for a bumper and respray...

I just went thru insurance for the same thing and it was about $2000 to get it fixed. Luckily my deductable was only $250.

replacing lip and bumper (not painted) will be the same as paying your deductible (assuming it's $500?)
Id say you are looking at $600-700 even with a used CLK 500 bumper

I take it the bumper is not repairable?

2 grand for the front bumper!?!?!?!

I was hoping for ~800 + 200 paint job (from a friend)

Here's the damage done....man it was looking good too

I can duct tape it together... Its not so much the cost, as I worry about my premium going up.

yeah, I think the OEm bumper is around $800-$900 by itself. Plus paint time, carbon fiber front lip, grills...etc.

I ended up getting an aftermarket bumper instead:

I got rid of the headlight washers and it also came with the euro impact strips. Much cleaner now.

I had to replace the bumper on my old w208 clk and it was about 1300 out the door for a new cover, paint and labor. The cover was about 900 of that.

I hit a jackrabbit with the sl and cracked the cover, replacement for that is nearer 2K. I'm living with the crack.

bumpers on ebay ~ $200

there are bumpers on ebay. They all seem to be in the Dallas area. I just bought 1 on 9/3. It just shipped. It will need a little scratch blending and paint, but it was only $165. Can't beat that for an OEM bumper cover! Now I just need a black steering wheel airbag. anyone have a source for a cheap one? Thanks

I can't seem to find any used ones :/

I was looking at the clk63 bumper but to be honest it looks kinda weird with the angled front...I like the clk BS one a lot better but thats a lot of work to get that to fit or to add fender flares.

I like this carbon fiber bumper and fenders

I like the fenders and bumper here:
http://www.duraflexbodykits.com/0106...y-p-12113.html

I think the cutouts in the fenders are great.

There are extra pieces - side skirts, rear spoiler that you could resell and get the price for the bumper and fenders down to ~ $1K maybe. Then a little paint and it's better than ever!

I am on a restricted budget, so I went used on ebay. Too bad there aren't any left. I guess they go fast.

Doom239 - thanks for the airbag note.

if you do get the CLK63 (not the BS) bumper i don't think there is a front lip available for that bumper.

personally as you said above, the CLK63 bumper is pointy...i don't think it goes with the style of the 203 too much.

maybe a Brabus front is in order?
