Used car extended warranties
I am sure most everyone on this forum has C32/55s that are no longer under factory warranty. As anyone pursued used car extended warranties? A quick google search reveals that there are a lot out there. I am not sure how beneficial they really are.

Timely question. This very evening I submitted a complaint to the Attorney General of Ohio regarding the company that sold me a $1900 "extended warranty" and then went out of business, taking my money and leaving me with a worthless piece of paper. Only automobile manufacturers can sell you an actual 'extended warranty,' all other companies sell what are correctly called 'service contracts.'
I have no suggestions on which company(s) are advisable to do business with, but I urge you to investigate any company before giving them money. The company that stole my money was Auto Repair Warranty, Inc. Do an internet search of whatever company you are considering, including checking their state Attorney General's website and/or consumer affairs website and their local and/or state Better Business Bureau.
Hopefully most folks on here have service contracts with solid, reputable companies and a few will chime in to recommend whoever they use. These cars are expensive to repair; I am reconsidering my own ownership now that I am suddenly without coverage.

The best ones were the Chrysler Factory Warranties but they stopped selling for MB. From my understanding they were getting taken to the cleaners because so many were sold to S Class and AMG owners. I was going to buy an S600 and then get a Chrysler Factory Warranty for it. As soon as I found out I couldn't get one, I didn't want to go near an S600. A single strut replacement on one of those bad boys can run you 12K at the dealer.
You might check with Mercury Insurance. From what I have heard they have really good coverages and are more reputable then some of the other companies out there.

I use EFG Companies. They're pretty selective though on what cars a warranty can be provided for. Usually must be 2004 or newer and have less than 50,000 miles at the time of purchase. Luckily I bought an '04 C32 with 41,000 miles and secured my warranty. They might have something else available, never hurts to call and ask. Now, I've not had to actually use the warranty yet but hopefully I'm not paying for nothing.

Looks like I am out of luckk with Mercury. According to the Mercury website:
Extend the life of your vehicle for up to
six years or 100,000 miles

Chrysler Service Contracts here... and has served me well.
If the dealership svc. dept. diagnoses an issue, says "hey it needs X" - CSC's paid it, no run-around. My responsibility has just been my deductible and any consumables replaced in the process (fluids, belts, etc.).
Shame that folks can get 'em anymore... but I understand it from CSC's standpoint. Mine cost ~$3,800 (IIRC) for 4 years, unlimited mileage. Many AMG owners exceed that level with 1 or 2 claims.
To the OP - I've heard great things about EasyCare. Might be worth a look. As others have implied (and I believe to be true), 99% of service-contract-providers are scams and/or fly-by-night charlatans. Do your homework; caveat emptor.

I still have a MB extended warranty on the C55, it ends in July of 2011 or 110,000 miles
The car is currently at 71,480 so I am not on pace to hit milage, but it has paid for itself 10 to 1.
Just recently, as of last week the following items were covered:
I had a Check Engine light kick on stating it was having an issue with reading the O2 sensors and the Service Manager @ Tri Star Mercedes in St. Louis (by far bar none, the best service manager on the planet) replaced them all. The check engine is gone and all is well now.
Additionally, they spotted the Harmonic Balancer looking worn, with the rubber middle looking cracked and on the verge of coming apart. He decided to have that replaced also, under the warranty.
The O2 sensors are like 300 each normally, and the balancer is around 500... so essentially they did 2g worth of work for nothing.
Additionally, I have had the moon roof (sticking) fixed, windows reprogrammed, seat motors replaced, ALL coil packs and wires, 2 injectors, one factory headlight (with ballast) and countless hours of labor all covered under the warranty since going past factory..
Since the car is modified, they will not touch the supercharger, engine internals, rear diff nor transmission, yet they have honored all the other components not touched by the changes.
That is the HUGE difference between dealers, where some will say "the car is modified, that’s why X failed" ... Dave on the other hand is like, "That’s a MB original part, covered by your warranty, I will replace it."
