c55 amg
Sounding like a big issue. Praying its not that bad
Recently my C55 has been burning oil like crazy. The car will be looked at tomorrow by my mechanic. The car has no signs of a oil leak my mechanic thinks it could be a piston or a valve burning oil which is not good at all . Anything i should really worry about?

You never
ever run 0w30 or 5w30 in any AMG engine.
The warnings are everywhere in the specs in the tsb in the approved list of Mercedes oils.
You may or whomever put that oil in ruined the oil control rings and valve seals.

you should be running Mobile 1 0-40 European Formula!
That is the only Mercedes recommends. If you had a new C55 and didn't use that oil it could void your warranty.

Well it's
not the only oil mb approves there are a few
regular mobil 1 0w40 is also 229.5 spec
along with several other brands
it is the easiest to get here in the states that meets mb 229.5 specs![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
You are right on about voiding warranty past that time for the OP
but whatever Dealer put in 30wt may have cost him dearly

You may want to check if your dealer really did put in 5w-30, since dealerships usually know better on their own vehicles. I'm not saying the quality of work or service is better, but when it comes to the actual parts they use, they usually have it right (and charge you for it).
I still say you have an oil leak somewhere you just haven't found it yet.

yeah, pull the sheilds under your car and see what they look like. Taking those off will take all of 15 minutes to do. (Just jack the car up and its like 4-6 easy to remove bolts).

How much is like crazy? I usually put 1-2 quarts in between changes and my tips are black all the time too. I just had them cleaned and now they are black again within a month.

I think
Mercedes excessive consumption tests indicate anything over 1 qt every 600 miles as being excessive That's an awful lot but they need the wiggle room
to skirt warranty issues. They also consider 50,000 mile engines as high mileage?

it should be fine. the factory says its acceptable for it to take .5 quarts every 3,000 kilometers. If you have a leaky headgasket, which is common, it'll eat more...especially if you have a lead foot like me.
