To The Left Or To The Right

i have just bought brand new wheels for my car and i have a flat.
i didn't want to let the wife change the wheels any more cause she scratches the alloys,
weve had a argument and she wont tell me if the wheel nuts go to the left to undo or the right.
Could someone help.

It depends upon whether you are in the northern hemisphere or southern hemisphere

a car.
You turn them to the right. They have a safety lock to prevent theft so you'll need A LOT of torque to actually break them free. Keep turning to the right until you feel it pop loose and give. The lug cap should have come free and you can now pull the the wheel off when all five are done.

Let me know if this doesn't work out for you....

I know most screws and bolts turn left to remove but this car is European AND metric so you have to go to the right for loosening. That little tip is free of charge friend.

and while you're at it, make sure you set the "impact wrench" at max as you're tightening them to the left!!! Note that you'll also be able to identify the break (sic) calipers simply by the color!! Red and silver are std non-AMG and black is AMG only!!! Ferraris get daisy yellow , But those colors depend on whether is night or day!!

While the wheel is off, make sure you lube the windshield bearings.

You'll have to rivet the wheels back on now that you've got them off. If you don't have a rivet gun that's not a problem, just head over to AutoZone or Advanced Auto Parts and ask them if you can rent the lug rivet gun to put you wheels back on. Shouldn't be more than $19.99 to rent or the afternoon.

I think the best idea is just to not tighten your bolts all the way so when you need to take them off the next time its super easy

Shoulda used the quote from Fast Times at Ridgemont High after Spicoli completely destroys his buddy's Trans Am. . . "I can fix it. My dad's a T.V. repairman. He's got an ultimate set of tools" (or something like that).
