ok well this is going to be my first post im doing so im not too sure how to start it. iv been trying to find a post with someone who has the same problem but i wasnt having any luck.. well id like to start off by saying that i slid off the road going about 20 miles an hour and got some under carriage damage. i parked it for a couple days to make sure i didnt have any oil leaks. it didnt seem like i had any for a couple days so i took it to town one day. on the way back i topped it out and parked it after i got home in the garage about 4 minutes later. when i came back two days later i saw i had a pretty big oil leak. so i took the guard off from underneath to get a better look and tried to figure out where it was coming from but im not sure... ill post some pictures and if you can help me out please do. this is my first benz ever so im really lost my dad said he thought that the oil was leaking from the orange thing.. can anyone tell me what that is? and are those holes on the third picture supposed to be like that?

What color was the oil? How much is a big oil leak? That is an electrical wiring harness to the transmission. It doesn't appear to the point of leakage looking at the photographs however. You need to thoroughly clean the bottom side, and then verify the location of leak.

that orange thing has a very high tendency to leak. The O-ring inside deteriorates and tranny fluid will leak from it. It's a cheap part to fix, about 9 dollars. I can't really see any leaks in your pictures though.

you need a new tranny connector brushing. There was a tsb on it a long time ago. I think the part is like $60 from the dealership. If you search the w203 forums, theres a part number for it. There known to go bad on all w203's.

It should be a 10min install once your under the car.

Here's the diy

Those connector bushings always leak. If it has been leaking for a while, the trans fluid can walk up into your trans module. I would also check your module.

the oil was red tranny fluid. the oil made a circle s of about 5ft of oil on the floor of the garage. the reason you cant really see the leak is because i got it cleaned up as much as i could. you cant really see this in the pictures i guess but there is a slight oil line that doesnt go any higher than the electrical wiring harness. do you think that the tranny oil pan gasket could have went out too?

just change the brushing. I never heard of the pan gasket ever failing.

The oil line above is return from radiator. You will need to replace gasket on electrical harness and refill transmission to proper level. Might as well just drain, drop pan, and change filter while you're at it.
