Exclamation Impressions “75-115 miles after” (H&S chip + BMC filters + RENNtech Pulleys)

I have one word now... WOW!

-Just 75 miles on it after installation, ¾ tank, rolling 20mph, 5,450 fts (Colorado), one friend and me….
v/s
Ferrari’s friend 355 F1 spider, just the driver …. to 110mph…
DEAD EVEN
I do know guys, would it have had occured?

-115 miles on it, stop light;
just hit the gas ….. immediate ESP light until 5,000 rpms and a little tail fish.
I will wait until 450 miles and I will dyno to contrast with my base line (just H&S + BMC).
Bye

What hp gain did you have with the H&S chip? Why did you go with H&S if you knew you were getting the Renntech pulley? What is the difference in hp gain and $$?

Why BMC and not K&N?

I'm just trying to have all info efore commiting to any upgrade!!

Thanks for the help!

Correct me if I am wrong. Isn't Ferrari F355 much slower than the stock C32 in the straight line performance?
How come you were only able to be dead even with him?
or it was it F360?

Well, all I know is that I beat a F355 with my stock 996 and my stock C32 was much quicker than my 996.

according to the specs ferrari f355 is 3000 lbs, 3.5 liter V8 produces 375hp 0-60 at 4.6sec and quarter mile at 12.9 so on paper it should be quicker than the stock c32. how much did the chip cost?

Well, http://www.bmcairfilter.com/
I just order it, $ 150 the two filters and shipping from Italy.

Code 281/01; 2 units.

Friends from Germany recommend me this company.

arthur12345 you are right,
How much for H&S Chiptuning?
US$ 1,290 with shipping to Germany and return.

What hp gain did you have with the H&S chip?
24hp, and 33 lbf toque....really similar to the RENNtech Chip..well do the math, the total out come will be exposed at the dyno.
I have the REENtech air filters here, but I preferred the BMC and I just leaved it on my car. I do believe that the K&N plastic frame is not well designed for our C32, and the BMC work well even with the ODPS kit (Shine).
Lets see what the dyno will illustrate in few weeks, to decide whether or not is convenient to skip the RENNtech ECU upgrade and go just with the H&S, other wise just go with their kit or the EVOsport one that looks really convenient and reliable too .

2002 C32 AMG
It must be nice to get all that horsepower back that you lose to the altitude. I also live in Colorado, so I know what the thin air can do to the power output of the C32. I need to make a road trip one of these days so I can experience the full power at sea level

It will be interesting to see the dyno plots...

Well, I dyno my car yesterday there is the :

http://groups.msn.com/Mercedes2003C3...oto&PhotoID=27

I got a 15-18 more hp through the whole power band, and the curios thing that I got the 311hp peak at 5,800 rpms, the same that I got with just H&S+ BMC at 6,100. I am convinced that the H&S Chip is really strict with that or and I have to get some IC up-grade. I have not installed the SL55 Y-pipe, and base to the fact that was my idea, I will dyno in a month again with this mod, and compare.
With the torque happened the same 20 lb.f through the whole power band until 5,800.
My final impression is that the area under the curve is giving me the huge change in performance that I have today, and I have to see how to allow the engine to continue the slope of performance within 5,800 to 6,100 rpm to get awesome result.
