E-Class Wheels?
I recently bought a used 2005 C55 AMG and when I took it into get serviced at the dealership I was informed by the mechanic that it has replica E-Class wheels on it and that they should be replaced with factory wheels for a C-Class. I looked up the wheels online at it says they fit both C-Class and E-Class cars. I was wondering whether or not I should be concerned about the wheels causing damage to the car. I never noticed anything wrong in terms of handling or excessive vibration, but now I am worried that 1) something might go wrong while driving or require me to perform an expensive repair in the future, and 2) I got ripped off by the seller, but I really liked the rims, that was one of the selling points for me. Thanks for your help. The wheels are 18x8.5 in the front and 18x9.5 in the rear and on the documentation for them it clearly states that the order was for a 2005 Mercedes C55 AMG.

OEM hole size and ball radius was different, unless you have conical lug holes (not OEM). Size and offset are also different. Take one off and see, if not you should be ok.

Several here are running “18x8.5 in the front and 18x9.5 in the rear” configurations that have invariably proven to work well with this chassis.
Tramlining is exacerbated when straying too far from OE offsets though.
Do verify sufficient MacPherson strut and wheel well clearance when time comes for tire replacement.
