Sold the C55

Well... after the c55 has been on the market for quite some time I finally took it to car max to get rid of it. They lowballed me but I needed it gone, so I took the offer. I was pretty bummed out the next day, but I ended up finding and buying an 09 Nissan Pathfinder SE 4x4 so I'm not quite as sad. I'll probably check back here occasionally to look at pictures and see what's goin on in the MBWorld, but I'm most likely out of the MB game forever. It was fun while it lasted. Anyways...

I've got some parts left from the C55 that i'm trying to get rid of still. There's a forsale ad in the part out section.

I've got the following things left though.

apexcone raptor v2 55w 6000K H7 HID Kit (error elimiators included)
Price:$50 Shipped

MBArts Camber arms for W203 NEVER installed, anodized black.
Price: $250 Shipped

Brabus K8 Front Bumper + OEM AMG Rear bumper (willing to separate) $1500 + shipping for both $1300 for K8 front bumper and $200 for rear buyer will be responsible for ALL shipping charges, to include packaging, packaging materials, actual shipping costs, and insurance and any other services requested.

prices are negotiable for bumpers, everything else is firm.

If it isnt too much to ask, What was the options and miles and what did carmax give you for it. Back in the day carmax bought my 2002 RSX and paid me over KBB private party. I had it on CL for that much and got a bunch of lowballers. Why did you sell, and why arent you coming back? Did you have problems or just need a bigger, cheaper car?

a car that can't do the throttle reset.
Damn. You had a unique C55 that looked killer. Don't know why you sold, but good luck with everything.

Pathfinders are nice and got a sweet motor. Only issue I have had was a ton of rattles. Either way, great truck.

Good luck!

i'd rather not say what i sold for. it was below kbb though. i sold because i needed something more practical for VA seasonal weather. the c55 was impossible to drive once the snow hit the ground last winter.

Thanks, I'm gonna miss it like crazy. This is my 2nd R51 pathfinder and my only complaint is the mpg... my commute is only 8 miles round trip, and otherwise it'll only be used for towing and for larger cargo hauling.

cannonball, I saw your posting floating around cars.com for the past number of months. Without getting into the details (the car had about 60,000 miles on it, correct?), it is my opinion that people looking for a used last generation Mercedes, and to be more specific, AMG, shy away from cars that 'appear' to be modded, as your does. I purchased my C55 back in May of this year, but I still trowl the C55 listings to see if my purchase price still competes with current pricing. I know that you had your price set at a reasonable rate, but with the low demand for this rare AMG model and with people afraid to buy into an AMG out of warranty, let alone one that has been modded, it is understandable you didn't get much interest. I am sorry you had to settle for a low trade-in price. Best of luck to you with your new ride.

A big SUV would be nice on crap weather days like we're having here. Driving through 4-5 inches of unplowed snow is definitely no fun even with snow tires.

+1, the C32/55s suck in snow BUT have you ever heard of Nokian/Gislaved/Blizzak?? For what you took below KBB, you could have bought snows for 10 years?? AND then bought summer performance tires for the rest of the year??

Plus, the gas mileage on the C55 HAS to be better than the Fathpinder??

I agree. Some new tires can make all the difference in the world. If it is really bad enough, it just won't matter anyway. Hell, I'd throw some chains on the tires and call it a day. You know a C55 with tire chains would look pretty bad ***....

yeah i could have gotten snow tires, but thats not going to change the ground clearance to clear the pile of snow the stupid car in front of me didnt clear off his trunk or the huge piles of snow left infront of the driveway from the snowplows. i needed a vehicle capable of towing, with interior hauling capacity, and 4 wheel drive. i owned a pathfinder before i got my benz and i missed it.

yeah i'll miss the awesome power of the c55, but i honestly think i wont be missing it much at all come summer time.

sorry to hear man, if i didn't have the ML i would sell the C32 for something similar. I like the Pathfinders i admit. While the power of the C32 is good, i have actually found myselt not even tappin into it. I can cruise it around town all i want without the SC engaging. It is nice to know that you have it though.

Good luck, sorry to hear you took a beating on the price though.
