I need to replace my front sway, what brand/thickness is best? Should I replace F+R?

I definitely have to replace my front sway bar, so what do people on here like the bes? Would the handling characteristics be thrown off with a beefier sway up front and stock thickness for the rear? If not what is the best setup as far as brands and thicknesses for the front and rear? What are other using?

The H&R sways are well liked AFAIK, as are the eibach ones. IIRC, the eibach sways may have been discontinued... not 100% on that, however.

I'm still on stock AMG bars - thought about changing them for a long time, but just haven't done it yet.

I am on stock bars and suspension and my car understeers like a SOB coming into corners on the track. I would think that putting a bigger front bar on our cars would make the understeer that much worse.

Now I could see an upgrade to the rear helping out.

Anyone here have any first hand experience with upgraded sways on our cars?

When I had my C32 I put on the H&R rear sway bar. The front I left stock. This definitely reduced bodyroll in hard cornering and perhaps reduced understeer a bit. When I put a wider rear tire on the back though any benefits I received from the bar in respect to understeer disappeared. The reduction in bodyroll though was still evident as it should be..

You are absolutely crazing if you put a bigger front bar on and leave the rear stock

It will plow like a pig on the track , and leave much to be desired on the street.

The biggest combo of bars is the Brabus setup (27mm front, and 23mm rear) OR a 26mm H&R front bar & 22mm Eibach rear bar.

The shop that inspected the car said something was wrong with the front sway and wouldn't pass inspection, I cant remember exactly what it was. I trust them and always get the replaced parts back, so Im not worried about that.

TruTaing-Thank you this is exactly what I needed.

So if understeer is such a problem should I replace the front with Oem and and a big sway in the rear. Or the smallest sized upgraded front sways with one of the thickest rear sways, would that work. Could anyone else with real c32 suspension experience weigh in here?

Interesting. My car with the stock setup was the complete opposite. I was drifting around the entire autocross course. What tire pressures are you running and I assume you have the traction control off?
Now with the 235/275 tire combo and -1.5 camber, the car is pretty neutral until I hit the gas.

JUAN and DOOM- thanks for the great links for primo prices. I just need to know how different sized bars are gonna affect the driving dynamics of the car. I don't know what kind of ratio of thickness should be used between front and back. I don't want to create MORE understeer. Does anyone track the c32 that has upgraded sways? I would just like to hear some experience with different set ups

Do you or will you track the car? You won't really notice the difference on the street. If you're not going to track, why would you want your car to oversteer anyways? Keep everything stock. I wouldn't recommend you do anything to the sway bars till you drive your car and get to know it a bit better. Seems like you don't really have it on the road yet? It's a good idea to get some stiffer suspension before you think about going with thicker bars. I'm not a huge fan of throwing thicker sway bars into the rear to get the car to oversteer. Something about it feels unnatural like playing with tire pressures. Don't take everyone else's word for it. Drive the car and form your own opinion on what you think needs to be corrected. Some people prefer a car to understeer more. Personally, I have the C55 suspension and an H&R rear sway bar. The C32 does tend to understeer during track conditions. However, in auto-x where the weight is being thrown around more, you can easily make the car oversteer with power oversteer. There's more than enough torque to do this.

Its just that the front needs to be replaced right now. Youre right its not on the road. I just bought and its at a shop. The front sway needs replaced before it leaves the shop. So instead of going oem and then spending more to upgrade, I figured I would take care of everything at once. Usually there isn"t even a question for a lot of cars. people will say "for a street set-up people usually run bar X and Y" and its been tried and true. I will experiment and report back.

A swaybar will not go bad unless the car was in an accident and it is bent. Only the bushings and the endlinks can wearout but sounds like you are replacing those anyway. You could take the swaybar off and it would pass inspection so the shop is giving you crap.
