Alright I'll bite again. The problem is that it's hard to search for topics within threads like this. That's why there's thread titles with specific subjects. Something you can search for easily. No one is going to come in here to look for your questions, the only reason people are going to come in here is to see pictures and results. Because that's what these threads are, glorified picture threads. Sorry, but not that many people care about the long term thinking and research process of the evolution of your car, they just want to see what the finished product is and what it took to get there. Feel free to search for the thread where the guy wanted to create an internet log of his driving experience. Day one, drove 13 miles. Went to Dennys. Day two, drove 50 miles. Put in 12 gallons of gas. Day three, got up to 4000 rpm. Drove about 35.2 miles at 63.6 mph. Etcera.

currently like I stated above exhaust work. I want to delete the sec cats and the resonator. Than also make true dual and possibly add a x pipe. Is there really any gains from a x pipe? If so what are they?
after exhaust work I think im gonna get new wheels. Im thinking either some c63 reps, s65 reps, or something in matte black.

Although I've yet to do any exhaust work on my C55, I have researched this forum extensively. There is a lot of information from guys who have done a lot with their exhaust for you to read and consider.
I have not heard positive things about Magnaflow's on our car. Do a search on that and i think you will see what I mean. If I remember correctly, too much boom.
Here's a link to a thread started by dynomite05 on his exhaust mod's. I've talked with him through PM. An impressive looking exhaust. I believe he may have done magnaflows, but it's not a C55 (think he has a Clk320). Again, do a search in this forum on magnaflows and see what you find.

From what I have read, the most successful exhaust mod's done here involve Kleemann long tube headers. These require either the removal or replacement of your primary cats. Search for the threads posted by Hooleyboy. He did some impressive stuff on his C55.
This forum is a tremendous resource for all of us. Don't get discouraged by those who are busting on you. There are just breaking your b_alls.
Keep us posted on your work.

ok thanks for the info. I think im gonna have to leave the primary cats on there. I hear the state of Va is going to start smog testing by the end of this year.. I would like to keep my car still able to pass inspection.

Unfortunately, I just replaced my Kleemann headers and custom exhaust from 2.5" duals to 3.0" duals and Dynocomp/MBH headers.
Dynocomp can also provide a special ECU map that will pass smog on my new header and exhaust system.
If you are interested in my old exhaust system I can send you a link to the pics and sell them to you for $500.

Like you I did not want to mess with the cats and run the risk of not passing inspection at some point or having any issues when it comes the time for me to sell the car. I'd like to be able to represent the car as totally street legal. May not have been an issue with the primary cat replacement, but...

The Kleemann headers and hi-flow secondary cats with the primary cat delete will pass smog in California which is the most stringent state in the nation.

Dynocomp can also provide a special ECU map that will pass smog on my new header and exhaust system.

why don't you just delete the resonator, get new headers, then a tune and call it a day? if i were in the market for what you were trying to do, i think that would be the best way to go.
