Secondary Delete in San Diego
Does anyone know of a place in San Diego willing to do a secondary cat delete on a 2005 C55. I had the resonator taken off no problem, but it is illegal for a mechanic to mess with stock exhaust and emissions systems here because of California's tough environmental laws even though the car would still pass the smog inspection. I have asked a couple of places and they just said no because they face big penalties. So any help would be greatly appreciated.

Find an indepenent exhaust place, have cash. Tell them you know it's illegal and are not looking to cause any trouble as your car will still pass smog. Tell them you do not need a receipt, or they can make it say they installed cats on the receipt. I found a place in south orange county that was willing to do it for $100 cash, although I have taken a few cars there previously.

Why dont you drive to another state. I could walk into any muffler shop in PA and have them do it, even though technically you're not supposed to modify a stock exhaust. I don't know know how your neighboring states feel about it but call a couple shops close to the boarder and ask. Or Mexico, have your resonator deleted for mere pesos while you take in a donkey show.
