They don't make a direct application for MB cars, BUT you need a Red Top for just starting etc or if you sit a LOT with ignition or ACC on or have killer stereo, get the yellow top. The red top is about 31 lbs and the yellow about 36. Yellow is for high drain systems or for people who park their cars and listen to stereo etc. Yellow is about 30 bucks more than RED because its made for high drain apps BUT also provides sufficient CCA for starting!! They can even be mounted upside down or sideways!! Bar none, best battery I have even used in a boat or a car. Not that much lighter than a std battery but eons better!!!

Per Newzchspy if you don't crank your stereo with the car parked, get the red top. That's the one I have, 3 years and counting, no problems.

You are right. The Optima I am using is the sc35a red top. I had to make my own battery box. I do not know if they sell cool ss battery trays for the Optimas yet.

Well I have to replace my battery soon. If its 31 lbs that would be a tiny weight saving.

Optima
doesn't have the high CCA needed for your car.
Interstate battery has the group battery you need and some costco's have a vented battery of the correct size.
The weight saving even at the 10's of pound difference is not going t improve performance and it will degrade your starting and operations.

Now that says its for a c32. Is that compatible with a c55?

Im not looking for easy performance. I am in need to replace my battery and I wouldnt mind replacing it with a reliable lighter battery.

I'm not sure if its blasphemy on here but there is a guy on louisville Craigslist selling yellow and red tops for $100 each? Not sure if he will ship but worth a shot?
I'm looking into a yellow top myself. Stereo upgrade soon.

I am using a red top on my C32 flipeed on the side so I can put a reservoir to isolate the I/C cooler from the rad
