Mercedes Service cheated me?????????
This is what happened!!!
Few weeks ago, I've got a call from the MB service department since I've got my service A (mayb B), and the guy said that the engineer found two leaking points (I can't remember where they were).
So, he asked me to fix it or not?? and it costs about $1200.
I told him that I will think about it and went to the dealer to get my car back.
I was confused when I got my report bcause it says there is no leaking problem at all.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WTF!!! Who do I have to believe???
The service department guy? Or the report???? ****!!!
First, relax.
Second, "engineer"?
Third, you've provide us with zero information about what was said to be leaking, and to be honest, it looks like you have zero clue at all and either didn't read the work order and/or you don't understand it and/or didn't take the time to write down what the mechanic said. Basically, there's fluid everywhere in the car, all different routes to go.
I will give you a reversal so you get what we're reading:
OMG I HAVE SOMETHING SITTING HERE IN MY OFFICE AND ITS BROKEN WHAT CAN I DO TO FIX IT AND HOW MUCH WILL IT COST BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS WRONG!!!!!!!!!
And how have they cheated you, as the title states, if you haven't gotten the repair yet?
I went to the dealer to get the service plan B.
So, after few days later from the day of my visit, I got a call from the dealer(service department) that the service was done.
During the call, however, he gave me the information that there are leaking problems and asked me that whether I want to fix it or not.
He said leaking points are front somewhere (can't remember exactly) and rear part(crank shaft or something).
The cost was around $1,200 since they have to take apart the transmission to fix that and it takes a day or so.
I told him that I will think about that and picked my car without solving the leakage problems.
When I picked my car, I got the service B report as well.
However, the report described that there is no leakage at all.
No PROBLEM!!!
What am I supposed to do???????????

Then the next thing is to not pretend you were cheated, when no work was performed at all, and the only thing is that you gave a vague deviation, since you seem to not understand what your service B is. Your service B covers just what is on that list. If you need a repair, that comes separately as an estimate. If you're not sure what it is, go back to the service department, then ask them to write it down, then you can figure out what you can do. Then do another unheard of thing: ask the guy what he thinks and converse with him about options, show you the leaking he found, how long you can go, etc. Don't talk to the internet to mind read something only you and him were present for. Empower yourself to get yourself out of this mess.

Here is what you can do:
1. Re-ask the dealer where it's leaking from.
2. Get a second opinion from your local independent shop once you've done (1)
3. Ask the experts here after (1)
4. Relax a bit, it's not the end of the world

I ask to visually see any time they are saying something needs to be fixed that I didn't originally bring the car in for.
+1 lol
Although originally I had thought this was going to be about them actually screwing you over... like one time i brought my car in for service and the checked spark plugs for wear... then broke the wires when pulling them off (brand new ones)... then told me they were broken when I brought the car in.. LMAO... dumb tech left the wires in the front seat clearly broken off due to force... needless to say they do lots of favors for me now LOL (the only reason why I go to Helms Bro's in Queens NY)
I took it to my indy shop and the guy even showed me exactly what they were claiming and that all the parts were fine needing NO maintenence.
So just beware, times are tough and I think the dealers are getting really desperate!
What I do have a question about... is that I suspect a tech stole my camera out of my car when it was serviced this last week... what can I do? or should I just go and buy another one? lol
The service dept. uses metrics just like sales, including commissioned based compensation. More parts, more service = more sales, more commission, etc....
