C32 Aftermarket cams

Hey everyone,
I just cant see spending 1/4 of what the car is worth on kleemann cams or Schick cams. I can machine the cam blanks and have them ground but I was curious if any of you have done the swap knows if a cam card was included? If anyone has them could you post the specs on them? Or if you know what the most lift, durations and overlap we can go with out engines with out modification to the pistons? I'm not worried about the vavletrain due to the fact I'm friends with the owners of Ferrea valves. I want this cam to be really lumpy... Chicks dig bumpsticks... haha
Thanks
Kevin

Well usually when you buy a aftermarket cam they will give you a "Cam Card" This allows you to set spring heights and make sure you have enough spring for the cam and also timing instructions. Would anyone know what the factory ones are?

I tried working with Eurocharged a few time left messages to buy parts and never once got a response.. Needless to say ill just do it all myself.. I would rather go a little more crazy then the ones they offer anyways...

There was a possible group buy on the Shricks some years back. I did a search and came up with this screen shot of the specs.

Hopefully this'll give you a decent start point.

cams didn't do much difference in a highly modded car as far as $ to hp...

just my opinion on my ride from the past...

I appreciate your honesty, I really just want it to be really lumpy. That is if I dont do a e55 swap into the car. I have a good buddy that only does cam grinding. I can make a set of blanks on the cnc for a pretty cheap price and have them ground for near nothing. As of now its just thoughts and what if's, but we shall see where this takes me...

Thanks also for the specs!!!!!

I'd just like to swap out the original cams especially if they are factory flawed and I may have an issue with them down the road. So I'm still interested in what you can do these for.

Did anything ever become of this? I would be interested in a set of camshafts.

So parts.com doesn't have them for sale anymore?

I would definitely love some cams if this project ever gets going.

I'm waiting to pull the heads of and measure where the piston and valves are. I need to figure clearance and see if I'm going to put aftermarket pistons in it or leave stockers in.

Are you thinking of boring out the engine and going with bigger pistons or are you thinking about going with forged pistons and lighter rods? Depending on how you design the cams, you may need to go with different valve springs and maybe titanium lifters.

Any updates on your other projects?

As for valvetrain, that's taken care of. I have a very close friend that works at "Ferrea" and I'm getting the best product possible. I want to see what I can make with stock long block. Might just modify the pistons for the valve clearance. As for my car I'm modifying a e55 blower to fit. Pics to come soon. I want to keep stock bore and stroke.

Should be a beast, I think the engine would benefit from ported heads, bigger throttle body, bigger fuel pump, and injectors.

I have a set of stock cams from my 2003 SLK32 with ~27k miles on them. If you are interested make me an offer. I installed a set of schrick cams.

I do like the cams and them seem to open up the top end for some nice gains. That being said I do not have a dyno to back up my claims. That being said I would do the needswings modified manifolds before I did the cams. The manifolds were not around when I did the cams but I now have a set on order.
