Door sills installed, FINALLY...
I finally pulled the trigger by purchasing the AMG doorsill off ebay. I was very skeptical being that not to many people had done them. And if they did, then there was a dilemma w/ the installation. I went to five different places around me (Las Vegas) to get price quotes. Circuit city, Best Buy, 2 local stereo shops that do custom work, and of course our trusty MB dealer. Circuit city didn't want to touch them. Both custom shops were going to charge me $70 per hour but said it could take up to 4 hours w/ 2 being the minimum they would charge. Mercedes...What a joke, it would have cost me over $500.
Then good old best buy. I had my Valentine installed there previously and they had done a great job. I went back to get a price quote and they too said it would cost around $64 per hour. I asked if they could estimate the time, then out of nowhere he said the most we'll charge you for is an hour and a half. I said sold. They also give a lifetime warranty on the install
Oh yea the job took over 3 hours; I was watching the whole thing. The sills look even better in person, especially at night
