C55 drivers, where do you put your left foot?
I will start this off my saying I am a short guy (5' 5") so it may only be a problem for me, but there is something weird about the driver ergonomics in my C55. The dead pedal is so far up on the firewall that I seem to have nowhere to rest my left foot. Its hanging off the chair uncomfortably and my ankle hurts quite badly on long rides. I now have a stone (yes, a stone in a $60k mercedes) between the dead pedal and my foot and its somewhat helping but still hurts. I was thinking of custom cutting some wood and painting it to make it less ghetto, but wondering if anyone got any solutions? The dead pedal is not adjustable is it??

It may be your stature, because I also consider myself relatively short (or average) 5'9" and my foot rests on the left foot well block about perfectly. This is an interesting question to me, however, as my current summer floor mats do not cover this small piece of underlying carpet where my foot rests and I sometime think that I may wear out or dirty that portion of the mats permanently. On this subject, I recently have been fiddling with my driver seating position, moving from a slightly lower, slightly reclined position, to a slightly higher (eyes at middle of windshield) slight more upright position, which I like and makes me feel more capable at the wheel. I am sure you will be able to figure out a setup that will work for you.

Try changing your seating position. I'm 5'4, and don't seem to have this problem. I also don't see where the dead pedal is. Not sure I even have one (C55). I rest my foot behind the parking brake on a patch of carpet area that's relatively firm (maybe that's the dead pedal?). I have the seat all the way to the floor, and relatively far forward. Also, remember that the steering wheel is fully adjustable.

Wait, you put a rock in your drivers side foot well? Tell me you fixed it so it doesn't have free movement. You wouldn't want that finding its way to the brake peddle.

I usually have my foot on the dead pedal but sometimes I will put my foot flat on the floor with my knee bent a little more than normal.

if you can reach the gas, but not the dead pedal, then it sounds like you're sitting crooked and the seat is too far back. I'm short as well but usually put my left foot flat on the carpet close to the seat (bent knee)

I actually bend my knee and rest my foot closer to the seat and lean against the door panel. Feels better than fully extended

update?
Hey xxaarraa,
Did you ever resolve this issue? I just posted in another thread as I'm having the same problem. Thinking of installing a dead peddle with maybe an inch or two of rubber underneath. Wondering if you found anything else that works?
This was my post in the other thread:

My fiance and I just purchased the 2015 GLK250 and love it!!!! But...the only I don't love is that I don't know where to put my left foot when driving. I'm a bit short (5'3") and my left leg doesn't reach the back comfortable so it just feels out of place. The seat literally will not go forward any more.
I'm wondering if this dead peddle might help. Does anyone have any idea if it would become a safety issue if we put an inch or two of rubber under the dead peddle to move it out a bit so my foot can reach it? This would solve my concern entirely. I know the emergency break is right under that spot, so I just wouldn't want to put anything in the area behind it that could cause a safety issue.
Thanks for your thoughts!
