SL55 AMG Wheels on my C55
I finally did it an I must thank SPR Sean for posting all of the specs for the correct SL wheels (offsets and size) and correct RAD bolts. I put these wheels on my C55 and couldn't be happier! The car looks awesome, the wheels fit so much better than stock and I gained a wider track. No spacers are needed and in my opinion they look better than the stock oddly staggered/dished wheels. I bought my car used with aftermarket wheels and couldn't wait to switch them out. Thanks again Sean!
I would recommend this mod to anyone interested in wheels. I must caution that I dont believe that you can put on wider than stock tires though becasue the clearances on the inside of the wheel well are very small and any tire that buldges off of the rim will rub.

Yes I believe they are 18x8.5 with a et35 and 18x9.5 with a et33.
I put 275 on the back but had to do a lot of fender trimming to get mine to work. The down side is stock amg rims weight about 30 to 34 lbs compared to most other brands at 20 to 25lbs.
Good news is Grassroots Motorsports tested the effects of heavy wheels and found no difference in lap times or HP but I would suspect they will beat up the shocks faster.

The wheels are 18's and it drives fantastic. Here are the wheels that I purchased:

I get absolutely no rubbing what so ever, but I am running 225's front and 255's rear. I also think that the previous owner had the fenders rolled so that might help. he had already been running 8.5" and 9.5" wide wheels so I knew they would fit. I love the offsets though and the car looks sweet ***! I will take more pics and post in a few mins

Here are more pics, let me know what you think, I absolutely love them, looks kind of like an e55 at quick glance. I always thought the c55 should have come with this style from factory, the stock c55 wheels looked smaller than 18's because of they way they curved inward and had a dish.

From my prior posts, I would tend to agree with this. IN road racing, "unsprung" weight can overwork the suspension BUT in drags and some "roundy-round" racing, its not as crucial. Its also relative to the vehicle. On a bike, unsprung weight is a huge factor.

I cant imagine these wheels weighing much more than the stock c55 wheels other than the fact that they are a bit wider. I did not weigh them though. If they weigh about the same as the stock c55 wheels than the unsprung weight should be neglible. Of course if aftermarkets are lighter, they will be better, but I am not really a fan of aftermarket wheels on my cars, these were the happy medium of wider and stock look

i kind of don't like them either way personally, but i like the mllion-spoke ones because they're wider and he offered me a killer deal on them, but i had a 600 mile drive home after that and i didn't need anything happening to them on the drive.
