Looking forward to hear what you guys think! Before and after dynos would be desirable...

I'm doing a before&after runs.

I've already had my car on the dyno.

AMS headers and a decent tune should give me 40+bhp I think!

It is common for the header studs to come out when you are loosening the nuts. Sometimes they just don't want to come off and the whole stud comes out. No big deal they go right back in, no problem.
PM me a price for the highflos and the LT's

I got my AMS headers installed finally! I'm really happy with them, I did get more sound than I expected and it does feel more responsive (and I haven't had my tune changed yet). The install wasn't really that bad, just a bunch of work. I didn't get irritated until trying to put the downpipe fasteners back in because it wouldn't line up just right (but I don't know if that was caused by the headers or from my cats and secondaries being removed). No big deal though, just had to pry the pipes one way or the other a bit until the bolt went in. Both manifolds/headers came out through the top but I removed/reinstalled all the bottom nuts from the left side from the bottom because the A/C line and brake module are in the way. Took me all afternoon to get them in, but I did stop at one point to install a hitch on a Silverado. It isn't something I'd want to do in the driveway though. I would recommend getting new fasteners, I replaced all 16 nuts and the 4 down-pipe bolts. Most of my studs came out of the head with the nuts and I had to put two regular nuts on the other side and jam them together to get the nut off and then reinstalled the stud into the head. The nuts are very soft so they didn't damage the studs at all, so those are good to reuse (unless they're just completely eaten up with rust).

We all like pictures, so here's the best one I could get:

Many thanks for the update, I'm waiting for mine, AMS said they are shipped now so should hopefully get them within a few days.

Any chance of a video of the sound? or a 0-62mph video compared to stock...

Thanks.

Thanks for the images.

Heat wise becuase they are near the sparkplugs/HT leads will that be a problem in the long run?

I know the stock ones are coated of some sort to reduce the wear and tear on nearby components etc...

I'm still waiting for mine btw, hopefully should have them sometime next week.

Not to cause any trouble, but when I ran across this thread I thought I should share. If you can do before and after dynos, it may be worth your time, just to make sure your getting the power that you think you are. But if you are going for the exhaust note, then enjoy.

Cool, because after I read the thread I attached I figure I owed it to you to have the info. I would hate for some one to pay that kind of money and not get what they thought they would

Well, if they don't, they certainly do look good on that table

Haha, that's no good to me, guess the noise will improve and they do look better than the stock headers, so win win!!

AMS claim 23BHP on their website.

I've yet to see a member who gained that much, 18bhp from a member in an SLK55 is the most but i'd be happy with 18bhp and some torque!
