Angry Throttle Body unstable - Hunting Idle

C32 AMG 2002 with EC stage1 and 178mm pulley.

It’s happened again, ESP fault and a hunting idle.
My garage had 2 fault codes today steering angle sensor and electronic throttle body.
I changed both which cost me too much, at first the problem seemed to be resolved then after 10min the idle when unstable again.
Checked the Fault code and it points to TB again. I know that the TB is good because we installed it into another C32 and it function fine.

We checked the signal going into the TB and found out its very unstable causing the idle to oscillate from 1k to 4k, we are thinking that the signal from the ECU is unstable could this be a faulty program?

I need some help here, anyone with some concrete solutions?

The car is stressing me out.

I could be that your manifold bolts have come loose and you have a bad leak. Retorque them and see if it helps.

checked the manifold, bolts are tight and no leaks.

checked the engine wire harness all day and have not seen any problem with it.

what could it be?

I am on the side of the road with the same issue right as I type. Normally I clear the code and the car goes back to normal.

That's weird. I think my problem is a pedal sensor.

1) You checked valcum leak
2) You swapped with good TB
3) You changed the pedal sensor

The only remaning thing is to change your wires. Or get a new car (jk)

My 03 C32 has ESP problems

My 03 C32 is at Mercedes right now with ESP problems and loss of power. They also believe it is the steering angle sensor. They are going to road test the car tonight. I will do a full report on this issue when it is complete. I have spent two months trying to fix it myself.

my car is going through the same exact issues. I am awaiting the arrival of my new TB and hopefully that solves my problems.

Once the ESP warning light comes on and the car starts to idle weird the only way to get it back to normal is to unplug the TB plug and plug it back in, then my car proceeds to run normal until hard acceleration for the most part. Although, it happens under easy acceleration occasionally too.

I hope its just the TB...

Finally found out the ECU was playing up, check the wire harness manually and found nothing wrong with it.
The ECU was sent away for checks and the mainboard was repaired and sent back.
Been ok for 2 weeks now, let's hope it stays that way.

The transmission jerk at 1500rpm is also gone, I guessing that the ECU is messed up and not functioning smoothly it will cause many problems. My ECU was giving me incorrect faults codes.

Well once again I am having some problems....

I replaced the Throttle body with a used E55 one that I bought from Renntech on eBay. Everything worked fine for a couple weeks, car was running great.

I was leaving my house the other day and was having a somewhat of delayed throttle response (I had to push the gas pedal all the way down while only getting a slow acceleration) the power was there so I know it was not the IC pump, I am thinking maybe the water pump?

Then yesterday, I start my car and it immediately went to an extremely high rev (to about 4k and would not settle down). I tried turning the car off and back on a couple times but continued to get the same results. The car jumped when putting it into gear and was idling at almost 20mph, I had to keep my foot on the brake. I parked the car and unplugged the throttle body and plugged it back in, set the key to the 2nd on position and let it sit for 5 mins...then started the car and everything was good.

Anyone have any idea what is going on here, could it be ANOTHER bad TB? The only reason I think it could be is because I did buy a used one, so you really never know.

It seems like every other week I am having a new problem with this thing...any help would be greatly appreciated.

C_DirtyTwo sound's like whatever problem you're experiencing, is probably what is affecting my car as well.

Very very similar symptoms, luckily my problems have been very very intermittent, and haven't came back since doing the TPS reset.

Let me know what you find, it sound's like the same problem is rearing its head on quite a few members all of a sudden.

My hunting idle is back.. Dam ShiX.

After diagnostic we think its the ECU playing up or the Engine Harness.
It's definally not the TB as i have swapped out my TB into another C32 and its fine.
The Signals going into the TB is very unstable, we pulled the wires that connect the TB and checked for any cable problems all the way back to the ECU, everything is fine. Moving and shacking the cables don't change anything.

Fault Codes: P202E-008, P2032-008

I'm searching for a new ECU now and Engine Harness, but these 2 items are going to cost $$$$.

If anyone has any leads please share with us.. thanks

When you swapped your TB into another C32, how long did you test it for?

ESP update

My used throttle body from Renntech is working so far. I haven't had any idle problems or been sent into limp mode yet. This has been the worst problem I have had with the C32. I can't believe how many of us are having these same symtoms with no clear cut answers from the dealers. You would think after nine years after it's release more data would be available to the dealers to help fix these known issues with the car.

I had my TB on my mates car for a few days, reason for knowing its not the TB is as soon as i installed my mates TB from his perfectly working car into mine its Hunting straight away.

Just ordered a used ECU for testing, i will have it reprogrammed. Ill let you know if it works.

Today:
My car was having a sluggish delayed acceleration when stepping on the gas. I restart my car and it went away and was working fine when suddenly during acceleration the entire car shuts off. I had no power steering or anything, the car just died. I restart the car and it goes to the high rev all the way up to 4k and won't come back down.

I unplug and plug back in the TB, and everything works fine again. Check engine light was on, but went off after a while.

Did a quick test just now and it had two fault codes for throttle actuator. I know it's a possibility but I really don't think it's the TB again...I guess the only other option is to get a new ECU...so damn expensive though and not even a guarantee fix.
