Is my Supercharger Friction Plate worn out? <PICS>

I just took off my supercharger pulley and checked the back of it and it looks really worn similar to what you see in these pics from other posters - anyone know what the difference is in the black metal rings vs silver metal colored rings?
I am asking because I was going to try lightly sanding down the wear marks with some very fine sandpaper but not sure if you should avoid touching the black ring area vs silver ring area (or if that even matters).
I am doing this based on what several other posters have suggested as a temporary fix to the loud supercharger "chirp" that i've had ever since installing my 178mm crank pulley, but never found a fix for.

worn out, mine would click. U have 65mm sc pulley, I think u might need 1 shim. My 65mm did not need any shims
It's when car is under load it seems like, I would check tensioner mine would similar noise
