alldatadyi wrong Power Steering part number

So the part number off of my C32 pump is the same as the dealer gives me. All data gives me the part number for a pump that is half the price. The dealer says they cant guarantee that the all data part # part will be correct. Has any one had experience with this issue?

Dealer part number 1224660101
Alldatadiy number 0024669801

Don't bother with a new pump, you just need to replace the seals. Also it's much easier than removing the whole pump. Check out my diy and it will cost you less than $10 for the seals. I also have the appropriate fluid which is cheaper than mb fluid.

I do have an extra rebuilt section if you don't want to rebuild it yourself.

That is exactly what I need. One of the most valuable DIY info I've seen. I will make a donation to the forum. Thank you.

Make sure to take off the front half of the pump only, should be four bolts. You will see the bolts after you take off that pulley. This will save you hours of trouble and make sure to not over tighten the bolts, they are made of aluminum and will brake. You can purchase the fluid on ebay and you should only need one can. I used a pump to extract the fluid. Let me know if you have any other questions. Make sure to clean everything before you remove the front half of the pump so as not to get contamination in the power steering pump.

I'm going to try to change as many seals as I can while I have the pump off. Any idea on torque spec's for the pump rebuild?

Well, I almost had every thing done yesterday but I encountered a problem. Instead of removing the whole pump, as Iinitiallly was going to do, I was just going to remove the front half and install the rebuilt portion. The rear portion does not have any thing that needs to be replaced. Well, in anotherthread I read that the bolts had to be torqued to 35nm or 26lbs and I ended up breaking a bolt in the pump. I think my torque driver was either to largeor thetorque specs I used were incorrect. I managed to tighten the bolts to the point that they wouldn't be able to move any more.

I have not seen the size of the bolts yet but I will try 8nm, that should be good enough for rubber rings to seal. I'll try to find the correct spec's some where in the WIS if I can figure out a year and model that the kit is made for.
