Just Purchased. C32. TUNING???
What up. Just bought a 02 c32 amg with 111000 miles. im new in the amg scene and am looking for good upgrade options. Also wondering what maintenance i should be looking for. Intercooler Pump replaced at 90k. engine feels reallly strong, so not worried. So first need advice on Exhaust, Supercharger, Tune, Cooling, Braking, ect. I heard eurocharged is the place for tuning. Will post pics up soon just tryna see what is good and bad for these hang built beasts.

There's a lot of options... I went the custom route with my cooling. Frozen boost H/E... Tuning and pulley through Eurocharged... Couldn't be happier. Braking can be through a lot of providers. Pick your poison..!

welcome to da club man the c32 is a great machine mine with over 120 000miles and runs very strong great daily drive. Lots of tuning to do like gt4 mentioned. btw, gt4 are you talking about fuel cooling like vath offers

Thanks for replying to my friends thread. We just took off the resonator and secondary cats. It sounds insane now!! What pulley should he get? is 185mm too big for daily driving?

There are many different routes to go as far as pulleys and cooling, as well as different companies to go with. From my research and experiences I have found that Eurocharged and Needswings are some of the best out there. I'd recommend them to anyone hands down. Start out by researching here on the forum, there are tons of helpful and informative reviews on companies and products. Then decide what kind of power and performance you are looking for.
You will see that when using the bigger pulleys such as the 185 it's recommended to use the pulley saver kit too. Use the search button and go to town. I spent 3 years researching on what I wanted to do and which route I wanted to take. Started out before I even bought the car, worked out great and am happy with every mod I have done.
Congrats on the car and enjoy!

Thanks everyone. I've heard nothing but good things about eurocharged and needswings. Also I know cooling is a major thing that needs to be done. Anyone have a good list of cooling mods to keep this beast running at the right temp.

Intake: SL55 (most bang for your buck)
Heat exchanger: Eurocharged, PLM, Frozen boost
Separated cooling: Needswings intercooler isolation kit, or DIY
IC pump: Johnson CM30
You could also mod your thermostat and use STAR diagnostics to do the -10c fan mod. Heat wrap your intake tubes, intercooler reservoir, and a few other things too.

The size of the pulley, which determines the amount of boost. Bigger the pulley, the more boost. Look on Eurocharged's website for exact PSI on each pulley

Also, don't forget smaller supercharger pulley. In the past available through a company called code 3. Now recently made available through Eurocharged. It's about equal to the 178MM crank.

I'm still tryna to decide wether to purchase the asp 178mm kit from needswings with the psk. How much power increase am I looking at and will this put a lot of stress on the engine.
I am wondering if maybe doing headers and intake will be better before upgraded pulley or iif it even makes a difference

Headers, intake, pulley, it doesn't matter what order you choose. It all adds a little each time. As gt4 pointed out, the supercharger pulley is an excellent choice.

DIY
Also what to do the Frozen boost heat exchanger and separated cooling. Do you have any DIY diagrams or advice for the heat exchanger, intercooler reserivour, separated cooling?

There is only ONE supercharger pulley, there are THREE (I think) crank pulleys. The SC pulley and the 178 give about the same boost so I personally do not see why you would get the 178 instead of the SC pulley. With the SC pulley you get the boost without all the obvious disadvantages of a crank pulley and it is WAY easier to install.

finally the 178 does provide a small amout of added torque that the s/c pulley doesnt. btw i run the c3 as my choice

the reason to go with the 178 is the potential to run a smaller than oem s/c stacked and get even more boost. also with the new adj. crank pulley being designed on the e55 platform the ability to swap the size of the pulley in 15 to 20 min allows for racing 1 size and driving another.

Please let me know if I am wrong, I thought the SC pulley gives 18psi and the 178 gives about 17.5psi boost.

FrozenBoost is a company I personally found that offers two universal heat exchangers. To date two other C32 owners have reported using this same H/E with good results. I'm very happy with the FB H/E and it cost a lot less than the Eurocharged H/E. However EC H/E is slightly larger and has a higher fluid capacity. Also EC H/E is direct bolt up. FB H/E will require some easy DIY to make custom fit brackets. Search for my thread...
Stock engine configuration ties the H/E system in with the engine coolant system. Simply adding two cut off valves will separate the two systems resulting in coolant internal air temperatures. This can be done via DIY valves at Home Depot/Plumbing store, or needswings offers ready to install valves. I did DIY but would go back and just do needswings as it cost the same to buy your own valves.
I would like to mention my setup. The 185MM was installed at 90k miles. I'm up to 130k now without engine failure. However, I have had multiple belt drive components go out after install of the 185MM. Not to say it's to blame as higher mileage you will without a doubt have failure on components. So far I've replaced the power steering pump, alternator, and coolant pump. Also the supercharger pulley bearing. Running the PSK as well. Crank pulleys available and rough PSI estimate 178MM(17.5-18PSI), 181MM(19.5-21PSI), and 185MM(22-23PSI).

at 111000 miles that you have the car now its either a good thing or a bad thing good will be everthing is already swapped bad you are a sitting duck waiting to get shot so........
1)take out the right wheel ad whelwell to see if you have a stock IC pump if you do and it looks like ti came with the car, well it should be the first one on your list of upgrades as it will be goinng out verry soon.
2) take out your intake manifold and see if there is any caked residue of coolant if ther is well youhave to change your intercooler, while you are at it you might aswell chance your heat exchanger readily availlable on ebay (exact same thing as EC) http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mercedes-AMG...item19c285893c
if you are doing it yourself it will only be an extra 200 to change the radiator at the same time while you are at it since its already out.
I love UPgrades but I dont know how deep your pockets are i would hat for your to buy all this upgrades and not have the money to fix the car in a few months. learn from other peoples mistakes
