selling my C55 this week. just want to give a few shoutouts.
this has been quite the journey. after a little bit over 2 years of owning the C55 i have finally decided to part from it. the reason i am selling it is because i have come across an unbeatable offer on a 2007 E63 and will be picking it up the day i sell my C55. long story very short.
anyways, i wanted to give a shoutout to everyone who has shown the correct attitude and mindset of an AMG owner. not one of being stuck up or "too good for you" but one of "hey, i know a hell of alot about this car, lets share it with a bunch of people i don't even know and just hope for some respect and kindness in return" and that is what i've gotten out of these threads, respect and kindness.
wanna give a shoutout to moosejaw for being the first person to defend me when dingleberry first saw that i joined (i'm young, he didn't like that).
also to newzshpy (or however you spell his name) for all the constructive criticism he gives us. this guy is patient and has been around giving info. since day one.
and to all of my friends i have made on here, i'll still be lurking these threads making some posts here and there from past experiences. who knows, maybe the new owner of my car will come on here and have a few questions about the car. hopefully they're not buying the car for grocery trips (

Hi Michael!
You´re not afraid of the premature wear of the 63-engine?

Our N/A M113-engines seem to be maybe the best engines AMG ever built!

i drove the E63 yesterday a little bit, i'm putting my c55 for sale as we speak.
first impression of getting in the car is that the seats are so uncomfortable. i swear, when i buy it, i'm taking apart the seat and stabbing to death the air bag thing that inflates and deflates your back rest. that's my only complaint on the car. it has a pretty good ride height, i didn't have to worry about scraping out their driveway. extremely smooth on the freeway, too smooth. it was funny because you don't really hear the exhaust all that much in the car as you would outside, so when i was getting onto the freeway, the bottom of my eyes had a small glimpse on the dash seeing the rpm go up and up and up, but not feeling like i'm going faster. that was not the rpm guage, it was the mph. i realized i jumped from 20 to 80 in a couple seconds and barely felt or heard it. pretty small rpm guage on these cars. the 7 spd was cool, felt nice. i drove in sport, cruise, and manual. the car doesn't feel all that big compared to the w203 either. i personally recommend it over a c63 because 1) it's cheaper 2) it's nicer (personal opinion) and 3) you can adjust alot more with all the luxuries that mercedes offers on it. i'll do some more writing on it later, right now my main focus is to sell my C55. i'm asking...keep your pants on....$27,500 for it. looking to get 25k or 26k since it is the only one for sale in the entire bay area. let alone a sick custom one.

2005 C55 AMG
Are you sure there isn't something wrong with the seats? The E class seats are much much more comfy then the C55's.

the brakes have 90% left in the back and 60% up front. really the only thing i'd have a concern with is the air ride. yea the seat just felt like it was constantly putting pressure into my lower back, even with the seat deflated as much as it could go. i just listed my car on craigslist, we'll see if i get some phone calls.

$33 is not a bad price. As long as you know that when you turn it around with 75k miles, you will lose $10-12k. The E's depreciate like a middle Eastern bathtub. Wait, that made no sense whatsoever.

2007 E63, 2006 C55
E63
You'll be very happy with an E63, big step up from the C55 in every area. I've had mine for 3 years and still smile every time I take it out. Depreciation on an 07 will not be that bad either, the newer year cars will drop quite a bit though. IMO also a much better overall car than the C63, but that is just my opinion.
But get a warranty, it is a more complex car and is not cheap to fix when it needs repair. You'll thank yourself the first time something breaks.

i'm not worried about brakes, oil change, transmission fluid change or basic maintenance costs. i can plan for those and my independent mechanic rocks. how is the car as far as reliability though? i don't really use the luxury features in the c55 like the seat warmer or rarely ever turn on the AC or heater on or past level 1 for that matter. i'm planning to do the same with the e63. i just got to seel my c55 first! that's all that's holding me back right now.

i would take $25k for mine, no lower. there's no reason i should be giving it away for what all the other c55's sell for though. i had some bites in emails but the highest offer so far is $22k. it's been one day since i listed it.

Thanks Mike, good luck with the new car!! I love the E class. It wont handle as well as the C55............BUT its a very nice car. I know that Moosie misses his C32 and you will miss the C55. I remain ever so patient!!
