What's the best way to launch a C55?

This is probably a noob question, but what's the best way to launch it (say from a stoplight) for quickest acceleration?

1. ESP OFF, S mode, floor the gas all the way past the kickdown (great chance of wheel spin).

2. ESP ON, S mode, floor the gas all the way past the kickdown.

3. ESP OFF, S mode, hit just the right amount of gas before wheelspin starts to occur

3. OR is M mode with ESP OFF still better? (shifting feels a little sluggish though)

me personally im going with number 3(the first one). i feel like we do better going easier because of the torque.

I always did it in 4th option. I press the shift buttom 300rpm earlier and it would actually shift right on point . Just play with the gas while in 1st.... You dont have to just mash it..

None of the above. ESP off, S on, left foot on brake, right on accelerator and load engine/trans to about 1500 depending on traction. I'd load at higher RPMs if I had drag radials.

I'll try this one later. Will this result in a mini burnout? Then when at the right rpm, you just suddenly release the brake and mash the gas pedal all the way past kickdown?

The "right" RPM is one that is used for any given traction and also the use of drag radials. Some DRs have so much "grip" that they will bog the car, so you need to load the engine before going.

The original poster asked whats the best way to launch. I'd say from the deck of a carrier like an F/A 18 (as I wave my right hand fingers in a circle before the launch!!! )

Referring to the sig: F/A-18 Hornet Avi Tech, Semper Fi

This is what I do, M mode keeps the gears sticking too much.

He means the new cars like the cars with a dual clutch transmission. Our c55s have transmissions that shift slower than dog poo poo. Best bet if you dont know much about manuals, is to leave in S mode. If you are at a track and wanna race, put in S mode, leave TC off, move your stick to the left one tap so it puts it in sport 1 (wont shift until redline) and brake/load to about 1500, when green, hit gas about 70%. when you roll out about 20 feet, floor it.
