Subwoofer not working?

Hey Guys!

To Introduce myself I am an absolute newbie and this is my very first post! I just recently bought a 2005 C55 and am very pleased with the car.. I have always used this site for browsing/reference when I owned my C32 but under an old non existent email address. So I'm BACK, I know you guys are a really great crowd and look forward to getting to know a lot of you.

So... here is my problem which I hope to diagnose myself.

  • My speakers work just not my Subwoofer.
  • When I put the bass all the way up I notice no difference in any of my door speakers.
  • I also thought there would be an option for Logic 7 / surround etc? nada..Just your typical bass, treble, fader and balance.. I heard of flash updates? hmm..
Any input would be great.

Thanks in advance
-J

And I think I checked all correct fuses. There was not a fuse for "amp" or "sub" just fuse # 64 which is "audio system" or something along those lines..

It could be a shortage or bad connection leading from the sub output. It could also be the bass control's connection, which isnt allowing you to turn up the bass when you want it to. Havent had this problem with my c55, but thats my best guess if the audio fuse is okay.

It could also be the bass control's connection
would that most likely be from the deck itself or the amp?

Thanks for your input.

There's an option, I believe it's in the Sound menu, that contains the three selections for regular, talk, and logic7 surround. Talk has no bass in it.

+1

Press "aud" (I think, I can't remember the button) then EXT and the options will display.
