C55 rim questions, offsets, etc
I have my c55 rims up for grabs
But what does the offsets influence
The rims im interested in had offset of 35 front and 35 rear
Ive heard stock rims are 30 offset front 34 rear.
Thank you, and as always appreciated!

Offset is the distance in mm from the center of the wheel to the hub mounting surface (the part of the wheel that is in contact with the hub). Assuming you are sticking with the same wheel width as your stockers (and that 30 is the correct stock offset, I don't recall...) then the new wheels would be 5mm closer to the suspension in the front and 1mm closer in the rear.

Thank guys like FrankW and phister, they enlightened me with their knowledge
I don't think you would have a problem with an et 35 front if you are sticking to a 7.5" wheel, my 19x8.5 et32 fronts have 15mm less clearance to the shocks than a stock wheel and I have no issues, but I am not lowered. If you are going wider than that you may want to check in on the W203 forum https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...-know-285.html or if nothing else, crunch some #s here... http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp
Which wheels are you looking at?

SL 55 rims are perfect fit with 265 rear tires or 275 with fender grinding. mine are 18x8.5 ET 30 and 18x9.5 ET 35.

Glad to be whatever limited assistance I can. With that setup you will have 3mm LESS inside clearance than I do...not sure if that will cause rubbing or not. At et 35 rear you should be fine with up to a 265, and from what I have read, 275 with some trimming depending on the tire brand...assuming you stay on stock suspension. Others can correct me if I am wrong. Good luck!

I just out up a set of authentic amg monoblocks in 18, that's a beautiful setup on that car and works perfectly...

This is at stock ride height and on stock suspension. No coilover perches/hardware to foul the gig up.

So, reading this can I assume a stock, non-grinded C55 running 18x8.5 ET 35 and 18x9.5 ET 30, basically opposite offsets, equal size wheels, could run 245s up front and 265s out back w/ no issues? ![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)

I don’t believe that information above is correct. First off those are the same size front and rear, the c55 is staggered. I believe the offsets and the model years to be wrong as well.
