That will give me the same offset I have in the front right now, but with a 1/2in more narrow rim. Hopefully it won't rub on the coil or the fender now.....what do you guys think?

What tires would be equivalent to my 225/35 19 and 265/30 19 I have now but for the 18's? 225/40 18 and 265/35 18??
That sounds about right for the tires. Or you can go with 225/40 and 255/35

Finally considering some wheels, and I'm dead set on these AMG reps
ebay
8.5 front, 9.5 rear
32 front offset, 35 rear

What kind of spacers will I need to get?

I think I'd like to get these Michelin Pilot Sport I'm set on 40 height rear tire, will 255 fit problem free or is 245 the way to go?

For the front I think 225/45/18 should give me a smooth ride?

I'm also considering these 17" CLK wheels so I can keep my current tires. Any thoughts?

Tyre choice is excellent. Wheels are fine & will fit. 17" will always be a little more comfortable than 18" with lower profile tyres - Your choice. I personally consider 17" the largest sensible size on the W203 if you value comfort. If you don't mind the less forgiving ride then go for 18"

The wheels might fit without any spacers but 5mm will be enough to clear the front calipers. As for tires Id go with 225/40/18 front and 255/35/18 rear, itll be a good ride.

I'd like to stick with 45 and 40 for the front and rear tires respectively just in order to give the wheels the most fighting chance against the bad roads here. Plus I currently have 45/17's and 40/17's on now and like the look of the ratio.

For spacers, I keep reading that 10mm is hubcentric, should I even bother with a 5mm spacer up front and just go for 10mm? What would I have to add to the back to make them "match" A 10mm spacer as well?

Remember you need to keep the rolling circumference of the tyres the same as original or have speedo etc. recalibrated with Star & you need to keep rolling circumference front to rear within about 2% or the ESP will complain.

As glyn said keep the rolling ratio within range. You have to take into mind that since youll be getting wider tires going with 40 series will give you a good amount of sidewall. If you want a comfortable ride then go with 235/40 & 265/35 so you have more contact patch and beefier tires. Remember the 40 means that its 40% of the 235 width. When doing the calculations comparing 225/45 & 235/40, the sidewall difference is about 0.29 difference, but youll have 0.39 more contact area with 235/40. As for spacers all spacers can be hubcentric. H&R makes all hubcentric spacers for our cars from 3mm up to 25mm. Just make sure its 66.6 hubcentric. If you get 5mm in front itll be +27 so youll want either 5mm in rear to get +30 or 10mm to get +25. But if you decide on the +25 youll most likely have to roll the fenders if you plan on 40 series for the rear on 18s because it will rub. Id would go with 5mm all around to give it a nice flush look but it wont poke out too much. If you do 10mm spacers in front youll have +22 and you wont be able to run 45 series because youll be on the fender. I have +20 in front and it pokes out just a bit and I had to slighty stretch my tires so it wont rub.

Edit: I am going with 18's, going to go with your advice phister on the tire sizes and spacers. Thanks a lot.

Anyone think these would look dumb on a 05 C230 sport? I like the stock silver on silver look you get with "Mercedes" wheels, but is that AMG emblem too much for a C-class?

new wheel fitment

Just picked up some wheels with these specs

18x8.5 +32
18x9.5 +30

Will I need spacers to run these wheels???
(Let's assume that the fronts will clear the calipers without them and I'm sticking with the stock sport suspension)

I just want to make sure I won't have any rubbing issues with these size tires:

225/40/18 and 255/35/18

Help anyone? Will i need spacers? TIA

Thanks for the confirmation! I made some measurements this morning and it looks like they MIGHT fit in the front and clear the calipers without spacers. Looks like I need about 45+ mm from the hub to the spokes to clear and it looks like the spokes are about 47-50mm away from the hub where the caliper would be. Getting ready to mount and see...I'll probably end up putting a 5mm spacer on it anyway...

It depends entirely on the spoke design. Try not to run spacers if you can get away with it. They are just another source of potential wheel shimmy at speed.

225 is a good front tyre choice. You can go 235 - thats what I had on my 203 but it gets very close to the strut.

ebay should sell them, if not a tint shop can do them or you can even our tint film and overlay them over your tails. Lamin-x sells removal tint film. also you can DIY with tint spray

About the setup on the blue car above? I know they are some late style copies, but there are so many, I'd like to narrow them down. Anyone got any info?

Need help with spacer fitment. I have a 02 C230 Coupe with 18X8 35 offset on the front and rear. I would like to purchase some spacer for the rear wheel. I cannot decide between 15mm or 20mm. The tire size is 225/40/18. Thanks!

Picking up a set of 19x9.5" f / 19x10.5" r Maya RT5's in chrome. Going to be a tough fit but I'm going for it. Extreme fender pulling, rolling, tire stretching has been planned. Can't wait to get them in and post up some pics!

I'm not sure about that fitment, it seems too extreme. I mean it's doable I'm sure, but unless you have a wide body the wheel will stick out wayyy past the fenders. My last wheels were 18x9 and 18x10. They stick a little pass the fenders. My current wheels are 18x9 all around. Still stick out. I'm sure your 19x9.5 will stick out more.

Well good luck though! it sounds like a sick idea. It's always good to be different but sometimes it's impossible or not worth it because it might damage things in the long run.

So what is exactly wrong with going for offsets higher than +38? I've been thinking the higher the offsets the more the wheel will stick out from my experience. I guess it was just certain wheels. Volks/Audis people been telling me that I got the whole offset understanding backwards, since 38 is the highest and 20 is the lowest.

Would it be possible for me to fit a 17" bbs lm staggered (not sure width)? With et 45 in the front and et 40 in the back?
