Carbon fiber chrome shift knob
My shift knob has seen better days. The C32 is rubbed off a little, there are scratches on top and the "sticker" has some wrinkles down the left side.
So I bought this from http://www.formymercedes.com/mb_resu...=Shift%20Knobs
It looks and feels fantastic. I am very pleased with it. There is only one issue with it. It sits slightly lower than the stock one and the boot sits at a slightly different angle against the base of the new knob. As a result there are lots of creases in the leather. I am hoping they straighten out once I start using it.
Installation took about 20-30 mins since I was unfamiliar with it. Next time would take 10 mins max. The instructions were helpful. http://www.formymercedes.com/Shift_K...ather_Boot.asp

Thanks, it looks much better than the original one and fits in well with the rest of the interior. The knob is also a lot heavier than the original, maybe 10x more, which gives it a really nice feel. The carbon fiber also makes it harder to see fingerprints all over it.

I am definitely not opposed to the carbon fiber console trim but I actually really like the stock aluminum.
Looking forward to the pics of the carbon wrapped trim when you do it.

My opinion is that the OEM one is tacky...c32 is written in an 80's style computer font. Its cheaply printed on a sticker. Not what you would expect for a $160k AUD car.

Is it sticker?! REALLY?! Cant believe it! I'm trying to find one to replace my old gear knob which has a crack. I was searching over internet and Can't find any. But after I've read this, maybe will be better to find some good quality AMG knob from different model. Besides I don't really know how much would cost used C32 OEM knob but I do believe around $100?! Any advice guys to fit nice and good looking AMG knob? I'm not sure do I really want this one with the sticker! :-/

I'm looking for OEM gear knob for C32 AMG '02. I've seen nice one and good looking, finished with polished metal and engraved small AMG logo in black color. Priced around GBP50. Please tell me guys, is it the only one gear knob with this C32 sticker was available in C32 as OEM product? I want to keep the car as close as possible to original specification but I even didn't expect that any of AMG equipment products can be made so dodgy!
