My New Project

Well my New project has started and it's time to share it here:

3.7L from the ML350 engine 2005 + 55 kompressor:

-3.7L cylinder block
-C32 oil pump and pan
-C32 crankshaft
-C32 rods, 55K pistons
-3.7L heads with C32 camshafts and 55K springs and valves

- 55 kompressor with 2 inlets cutted on each side to fit 6 cylinder
- 55 AMG intake tanks also cutted to fit 6 cylinder and to fit top mount intercooler
- C32 oem intercooler below 55 SC plus 2 top mount aftermarket intercoolers, 2 pumps in parallele to fit them
- 2 HE's with rear tank (installed)
- 172 to 185mm 55 crank pulley(we'll decide which pulley after we look what the boost will be) with all other 55K pulleys installed on the C32 front engine wall with 55K thermostat
- loop fuel rail with 550cc injectors, adjustable fuel regulator
- air filter directly sitted on the TB and feed from the engine hood
- 80mm tb (installed)
- long tube headers, catless (installed)
- colder spark plugs and wires (installed)
-EC TCU manual speedshift with 6500 rpm(installed)

and ofcourse Jerry fine tune.

goal: 500whp-600bhp
(now i am at 380/400 whp-473bhp)

it's alot work especially that we have to take apart the 3 engine(350, E55 and C32) and make from them one engine.
i have a blown 55K engine that i'll take 6 pistons, valves, springs and pulleys from it.
the C32 engine is from my car
the Ml350 engine i bought it used, cheap
i'll swap my C32 kompressor and some other parts with the 55 Kompressor
so the project will not cost me alot.
Pics attached.

width: the same
front length: it's longer by one pulley(55 has double crank pulley)
rear lenght: it's longer by one cylinder. we have to cut the rear cylinder runner and modify the SC inlet.

Way to think outside of the box. glad to see a 3.7l project and love the idea of swapping the 55k supercharger. I think that you could adapt the entire belt setup. Pulley and idlers.

i think the C32 is 1.6L and the E55 is 2.3L as per info on this forum but if you see them by eye the E55 one is so large and heavy.

90mm is so huge maybe i'll swap my 80mm which is from inside 78mm with a 82mm.

yes the entire belt setup must be installed.

i hope so, if the project didn't get as planned i'll have to return everything to it's original placement and the E55 kompressor will be for garbage cause the runners must be catted.
my only concern is how the boost will be?

Not an AMG :(
Brilliant! - quite the Frankenstein experiment!

Hopefully tuning / engine management will not be the limiting factor in this project.

Why didn't you go with the 3.7 brabus crankshaft that was being sold? I am so going to do this project in the next couple of years.

Don't worry about boost, there are a lot of options to increase boost. You can get the new E55K supercharger pulley and combine it with a larger crank pulley, which you already have. I think Jerry even had a 190mm pulley on his car before he sold it, I'm sure you can source a bigger pulley if necessary. I wonder if porting the heads while they are out would help?

What is the top mount intercooler suppose to look like? Worse comes to worse, you could use the E55K intercooler, should work.

The 3.7 brabus crankshaft will not fit the engine, cause you need a custom rods and custom pistons, the MB rods does not sit in this crankshaft. the holes are different. look at the last post in the thread of the guy who want to sold it, if it work this guy must have installed them from long time.
brabus made a custom crankshaft along with custom rods and pistons and bored the cylinder 2 more mm. i am doing a plug and play project.

As for the boost i am worry about getting high boost with this SC(more then 1.5 bar 23psi) and if the engine can handle it.

i will not put more money in porting polishing to get 10-15hp.

Frozenboost intercooler type 13.

i have measured the 55 intercooler it has almost same dimensions as C32 one: (in cm, core size):
C32: 18*13*9
E55: 20*13*9
the E55 has the bypass tb in it, so i'll use the C32 one direct fit, no bypass no electrical works.
thanks.

hello,

the crankshaft fits into the block, you need only custom rods &55k pistons, then you have 4.0l

no, brabus made only a custom crankshaft & pistons (2mm larger and lower because the higher the stroke) and have 3.7l result....

regardless, my C32 is time passed, "my next steps" are in the C63

I wish you "good luck" in your project

after all i have to make customs rods, no one here in Lebanon can make them and i have no time, 3.7L is enough for me.

today we took apart the C32 engine, pics:
