need help finding relay/fuse for air pump
I have a check engine light, the code is for that air pump on the front of the motor that comes on for 30 seconds when you start the car cold. the pump comes on when I wire 12v to it, so I suspect the relay or fuse is bad. I've searched all over and was unable to find the location on my C55. found it for the E55 but it's not in the same place.
I ended up guessing and found the fuel pump, horn, lights, starter, and a relay that kills the whole ECU. Also found the ABS relay. Still can't find the one for the air pump.
Please help!
thanks,
mike

front fuse box part# 002-542-26-19 look on top of the relay. The air pump always goes bad though, you may need to replace both. Let me know if you need any other help.

That's not the relay for the air pump, it's the SRS airbag relay. I'm looking for the relay on the air pump (smog pump) mounted on the front of the motor. A picture would be helpful.

Well, I thought it was fixed. I guess I'll keep testing every single relay until I find the right one. After replacing the fuxe, my CE light still came on when I did a cold start this morning. I am able to "hot wire" the pump and it comes on fine. I've already tested all the relays in the engine bay so I'll try again.
the 40 amp fuse is the only one in the engine bay fuse box. It's extra large next to a purple relay. I tested the purple relay first, and it seems it's in control of the ABS system.

The pump itself is that large black motor mounted right on the front of the engine. Once I replaced my 40A fuse, the pump started working again. No more c/e light!

Sorry there is an error in the catalog but it has a note I didn't notice the first time. If that doesn't help let me know again and I will look into it more.
