ASE chip, Evosport ODPS

Hey all,

Finally had change to scan my dyno graph from yesterday.
The first four runs were with Evosport odps 91 octane.
It ranges from 309hp to 316.6
The last three were done with ASE chip, Evosport odps and 91 octane.
It range from 323.7 to 328.1

After the dyno Nima took me to his muffler man to have some stuff done to my exhaust. I have everything Nima has except the SL55 splitter and the BMC filter.
As of now I should somewhere near 335.
I will be dynoing my car again tomorrow, I'll let you guys know if I am anywhere near Nima.

Side note:
1. My car just came back from the dealer for Transmission repair. They found Radiator leak inside my transmission. They replace the Radiator and the most updated 03 E55 valve body and the control unit. I noice the tranmission is holding the gears longer and it's not searching for gears between 1500rpm to 2500rpm. Car simply drives amazing.
2. Last three dynos with ASE chip we didn't have the chance to let the computer adapt, therefore the gain was only 12 hp. I don't know if it'll give me more or not but I guess I'll find out tomorrow. If you average the first three dyno without the ASE chip and also average the last dyno with ASE chip you get the difference of 13hp.
3. I was dynoing with 19" bbs LMs, not sure if that would make any differerence on the out come of the dyno result.
4. Don't ask me what I did to my exhaust. If you want to find out you'll need to ask Nima. I promiss him I wouldn't tell anyone.

Thanks for listening

Cool, This confirms the roughly 10HP gain that Nima saw. Again, a nice gain. Not the 38HP or so that Nima claimed, but a nice little extra gain.

BTW, that little mod that Nima did can land you in jail for a federal offense - so be careful.

Thanks

Brad

Hey Brad, it's Charlie

Chip will definitely not give you 38 rwh even with S/C cars. Maybe turbo cars.
I actually lost power on my 996 which I change the chip.

What is the difference between the '03 E55 valve body vs. our original valve body?

Since all AMG transmission are the same. 03 E55 valve body is the most updated version valve body parts available. Valve body controls the shift, therefore even on normal driving my transmission tend not to shift under 3000rpm.
If your tranny fails and dealer need to replace a new valve body you'll be getting the 03 e55 valve body as of now. Maybe later they'll have an even updated version. You never know
Hope I made some sense.

Porsche Turbo Stage 4, Cayenne S ... gone C43, C32, ML55 & Ducati 999.
Nice numbers amgc32!
Good for you and Nima!

I had installed my SL55 Y-pipe + thermo-isolated the air-box (yesterday), and there is a difference.
On one hand, the SL55 Y-pipe makes a HUGE improvement in acceleration response, and a progressive power line, perhaps some HP & TQ there for sure.
The thermo-isolation gives to my C32 now a prolonged “driving early morning” sensation.... and so on.
I have to dyno guys, and I will post pics soon!

Now amgc32, could you please tell me in details which was " THE some stuff done to my exhaust" that Nima's muffler man has done. My exhaust still bone stock... no modifications yet

Thanks!!

There are a few different methods. By far the most common is to wrap the intake in a thermo-wrap. This is a type of tape/wrapping that will not transfer the heat from the engine into the air-box.

This is an old racers/street-rod trick that works quite well.

We did this extensively to the European Car project M3.

Thanks

A less hi-tech and aesthetically pleasing method is aluminum foil...

Actually, foil will work, but only a very small amount. Foil will reflect heat, but not prevent it from transfer. Foil is very thin with no heat blocking backing. The real stuff is not expenseive and works much better. You could do the entire intake for less then $100 in raw costs likely

Wrapping it in aluminum foil is not as good as it sounds. To be effective, the foil cannot touch the item being insulated. Remember that metal is an excellent conductor of heat. If you insist on going low budget, pick up some scrap fiberglass insulation to wrap the airbox with BEFORE you use the foil. This will work much better but will still look out of place on a Benz. IMHO, Thermotec and others make some decent looking insulation wrap and blankets that will give it more of a racecar look.

Cool

First time we have a chance to check the Carlsson CM32K.
They did an amazing job on ECU/EGS rewritten.
It support a C320 to shift as C32AMG,that's upshifts at 6300 rpm
More study needed, that's an amazing supercharged C320 w
excellent s/w tunning.
